On Saturday, my wife and I were returning from St Helens after the game on Friday night. At Wigan, the train was 'invaded' by Wigan football fans bound for Blackpool. Our carriage was packed to capacity; the isle was blocked, but fortunately we were in the nearest seats to the door or it would have been impossible to get off at Preston. As we approached Preston station, we were preparing to alight. Seeing the St Helens RLFC logo on my top, some of the Wigan lads had a go - all in good fun. I should say that we are not in the first flush of youth, having a combined age of 157. One lad in particular insisted on taking our cases from the wrack and carrying them onto the platform, after another had cleared a way through the crowd. I was very grateful for the help, as we would have been in trouble getting off the train. The chap who carried the cases off, shook hands with us on the platform and wished us a safe journey home. I know there is a strong, even bitter rivalry between our clubs, but the sport rises above that. We are all fellow League fans. I hope the lads concerned read this. I would like to thank them again, on behalf of my wife and myself for their assistance, and I thoroughly enjoyed their patter. Oh, incidentally, we were supporting Wigan last week against the Aussies! Thanks again, Wigan.

Sorry, it was the wrong forum. Not hot on this computer stuff. I was on the Wakey forum to sympathise after yesterday, which I listened to on BBC Radio Leeds. I try to visit Belle Vue at least once every season, and have done since the days of Shane McNally. Hope things improve. Hope to get to BV later in the year. Sorry again about the mistake.
