| With Kirmond, Lautiti, Tautai and Godinet injured and Washbrook struggling for form is there an opportunity for one of the younger lads to force themselves into the team on a regular basis?
Previously I've seen a few of them play brilliantly only to be dropped the next week. So what must they do to retain their place?

You often see this at "bigger" clubs, players brought in and then rested, thats the way to do it imo.
What happens at Wakey i don't know, it seems they are used as "fill in" and then dropped, i may be wrong but thats how it seems to me.
So i don't know the answer.

| Would this team restore some faith and pride in the supporters, would they show the regular players what it means to play for Wakefield Trinity they might not win many games but they'd work themselves to a standstill and force the opposition to fight for their victory.

I agree Al they are used to fill in then Agars favourites come back into the team. Look at cowling for example filled in then dropped. Only one thats had plenty of chance is Wildie and hasn't taken it in my opinion. That Shulver on boxing day looked useful.

What's the difference between being brought in then rested, and being used to fill in then dropped?
Is it just the perception of fans? I would suggest that if we weren't getting hammered every week, we as fans wouldn't be looking down into the darkest recesses of the squad list, clutching at straws for an answer to our problems; or lamenting the loss of players who despite their apparent value, have yet to secure a SL berth.
The first 17 are under-performing - that's the reality; Matty Wildie and Lucas Walshaw won't solve that.

| Don't think there will be many on here think that walshaw and wildie would turn things round but if the first 17 arnt performing surely that means giving others a chance and on the basis of your post you must agree with agar on who are our first 17

I don't agree with large parts of what RA has done this season with regard to selection and I've said as much on several other threads; the point I'm making here though, is that the team that has been selected has been capable of winning some of the matches they've lost; and has been capable of staving off some of the drubbings they've received. I'm not sure what the answer is - but there does seem to be a leadership issue; and that includes selection and player management.
All of that said - I don't see Matty Wildie as anything other than a rotation hooker; he's not good enough to play 7 at SL level. And Lucas Walshaw is a big, steady lad, but he's not going to set SL on fire either - whether that's because of the failures of the last regime, or this one, or the players themselves, is up for debate; that's actual debate mind, not mindlessly droning on about how your knowledge is superior to everyone else.

| I think what sticks in peoples craw is the fact that whilst the likes of Wildie & Walshaw may not be world beaters they have done a decent job in the few chances they have got under Agar. Yet certain players who constantly offer nothing or makes countless mistakes get picked week in week out. The bias is plain to see and quite frankly most fans have had a gut full of it.

The difference is they are being groomed a few games at a time, educated into the match day and game set up, this happens over a period of time, younger players need more recovery time at SL level.
We just use and drop them has and when its needed.
Thats not my first 17 Bren thats Agars.
