| Wakefield FC are moving on from Belle Vue next season. I hope this isn't going to cause us a problem financially as I believe they paid us rent to play there which we then then used as part payment to the current landlords. It could well leave a hole in our income if it was part of MC's projected income. A couple of articles are below which offer a little more info.

| Personally I'm glad, the pitch is ruined by too much use and it's the football that does the most damage.
Good luck to gem wherever they go

| From the playing surface point of view it's not a bad thing but financially maybe not so. I suppose Carter is the only one who would know whether it will affect things but if it does then we will somehow have to balance the books.

Wakefield FC don't have the wherewithal to have been paying anything insurmountable, I'm sure we'll survive.

| One of those articles refers to a rent hike for them so I suppose how much of an issue it is will depend on what they currently pay and also whether we were after an increase because it was a pittance or because the main rent is going up. If it's the former, then should not have a major effect but if it's the latter, then it could be a real issue, given crowds are already well below the budgeted figure which I believe was 6000

The article quotes a 'five figure' annual rent. Whether 10K or 90K I guess that money will have to be found somewhere, MC has rightly said that he will not allow expenditure to exceed income. Sounds like we had asked them for a large increase on the figure. Was that us just trying to get more out of them or have our landlords put our rent up and we needed to pass it on?

This latter would also be my fear. In addition I know a small group of Wakefield football fans who had taken to attending quite a few of the rugby clubs home games, mainly due to the social side of it. They estimate that through ticket sales, merchandise, food & drink etc, that they spent over a grand between them last season, not massive amounts but significant enough. But due to the way they feel their club has been treated by us they will not be back so more revenue has been lost there. Whether there are any others as well I don't know but when as a club we are not exactly flush with money I would have thought every penny counted. It's a shame that a way forward couldn't have been found to the benefit of both sides.

the rent they paid didn't pay for their usage when they were at Belle Vue from what I was told, so ask your self would you continue to allow the football club to use the ground on a loss basis or ask them for the correct amount to cover costs. their didn't want to pay so will be moving back to Emley and taking voluntary relegation as the ground doesn't meet standards for the league

| You'd be surprised at what they paid and did at the ground.

| It's a shame Wakefield FC aren't higher up the football pyramid as football clubs are eligible for loads more grants than RL clubs and get then in at Newmarket with us. Biggest City in England without a pro football team and all that it would be good having a football team representing our City playing in the City.

I'm afraid England development in all sports is suffering ,whether it's facilities or numbers.hearing politicians talk about funding in sport is what it is,just talk. They would rather send monies else where.Hence why we will always be second best.
