Bang out of order folk hurling abuse at Tim Smith yesterday. As well as being a good player for us it could be said his quick and timely departure saved us from dropping in to admin. Yes let's all have a bit of fun with Rangi but not Tim Smith.

It seemed fairly good-natured and didn't last long; nothing wrong with a bit of harmless sledging, provided it doesn't cross the line.

I didn't see Tim Smith's reaction, but Rangi had a little grin and he was getting far worse.

It's all part of the fun. I remember Solomona being jeered at about his weight and parentage. He laughed, the crowd laughed back. It's just pantomime and Smith will know that, as did Rangi.

Oh no they didn't

I felt it was out of order too. Tim Smith is a EDIT repeated several times in a loud chant wasn't jest or ribbing to me. He helped out lots in the community and was a decent bloke. He looked a bit Perplexed by the chant as I dont think he deserved it. I'm sure he can take some ribbing but certainly not like that but that's just my opinion. Pantomime characters that do unsavoury things in and out of the game like Chase, Hock, Bailey etc expect some stick and a lot would say its deserved. You could argue it would be boring without such characters as RL isn't played by men wearing halos. We have a great, vocal support & just need to be careful at times not to over step the mark!

Other than that, I thought the travelling numbers, support and atmosphere provided a real buzz for the team. It was just rewards for the off seasons efforts and indeed the players efforts on the day! Support like that throughout the season will be a real plus!! Well done everyone who travelled across!

I don't understand that as soon as a player leaves the club he automatically becomes a villain. Surely we have more intelligent fans than those who hurl abuse at previous players for moving on?

Pretty sad if that's the case. Some people just love to be bitter. Tim Smith is the best halfback we've had at this club since Danny Brough and he took us to the playoffs just a season ago. The man should have been applauded not slagged off. Met the fella and he was a top guy. Hhe's nearly at the end of his career and I don't blame him for moving to salford when we were on the brink of going into admin once again.

We should concentrate on supporting the players we have as there the ones we need to keep us in SL. I didn't bag smith and neither would I, but in all honesty would prefer people having a go at former players if it means the current ones aren't the subject of their anger/abuse

It would seem we have plenty who are not that intelligent sadly.

Some of the abuse hurled at him was way out of order and some of the general abusive chanting is disgracefull.

If they can't support the team/club without dropping to this level they should clear off.

I thought most of it was just banter and smith and chase took it quite well.

The only thing which was out of order throughout the entire game came from one mindless idiot who's use of the "c" word could only have come from superb parenting. This individual constantly swore his way through the game aiming his chants at practically everyone on the pitch. I think even his mates must have been embarrassed as none of them joined in with his chanting.

Hope it was just one too many beers and not a common theme throughout the season as someone will end up dealing with it.

He's done it before and he'll do it again, he's a real hardman stood with is mates.

Its strange isnt it, Smith leaves on good terms,With respect from the club and most fans. He gets loadd of abuse that he didnt deserve. The same people giving the abuse to smith sing jarrod sammuts name, a bloke who just walked out on his team mates at the worst possible time for them. Dont get me wrong im looking forward to sammut playing, but I wouldnt sing his name until he proves hes good for my club.

I didn't hear anything that was beyond the pale yesterday - the Rangi stuff was a bit near the knuckle but he understood it and played up to it.

I don't like foul and abusive language from the terraces but equally, we're not going to church!
