Left the club to join Cas.

Shame, when he went on the pre-season camp to Portugal and got some action in the pre-season games I thought he would be one to step up to the first team squad this time around.

Typical career progression for a few.
1. Not good enough for who they would really like to sign for.
2. Use Wakefield as a vehicle to prove the doubters wrong.
3. Move on to Cas.
4. Move on to Hull FC.

Career progression: Brad was in the England academy until he came to Wakefield, he was told at 1 of his interviews with another club that he would be guaranteed an England place if he signed for them, he chose Wakefield and then never got a look in after that.

1: Not good enough for who he would really like to sign for. Brad was asked to stay at Leeds, he had 3 other offers on the table and Wakefield wasn't the best of the 3, he chose Wakefield because he felt like it was the best place for him. He liked the family atmosphere.

2: Use Wakefield as a vehicle. Brad has put his heart and soul into playing for Wakefield and enjoyed every minute of it. You can pretty much thank 1 of your recently departed higher ranking members of staff for his departure.

3: Move on to Cas, Brad didn't just have an offer from Cas there we're offers from much further a field, he wanted to stay local to home and family, Cas had been interested for a good few years and it was pretty much an offer he couldn't refuse.

4: Move on to Hull, If Brad decides to move on to Hull or any other club it will be for his benefit and I will know and support him as it will have been the right decision for Brad.

There are always a lot of things going off behind closed doors!

If you or any other members would like anymore questions correctly answered or put right please feel free to ask.

Best wishes

I hope some of you learn from the above post that not all players who leave Wakefield do it because they want to, sometimes it is a chance for them to advance when they feel it will not be available to them at their current club. The idea that he used Wakefield for personal financial gain was wrong and I trust you will apologise for your incorrect albeit typical assumption.
I must go now before I receive another e-mail from the man who claims to have the biggest brain on the planet, I wondered why we had those double doors fitted at the ground.

It would seem that's the case, have no reason to doubt him but I don't have an agenda.

Its funny that you are so troubled by point two. eusa_whistle.gif
I dont know if any of what gazbaz is saying its true, what i would say though it looks a fairly well informed and balanced post and not the rantings of someone with a big axe to grind - go figure.
By email i guess you mean PM from a mod warning you as to your conduct on this forum? If so, if you continue to flout the rules, i guess yes - you can expect another one but it will be to inform you that you have been banned.
Tread carefully.

In this case I think it should be. Brad was on the Leeds Scholarship, and despite being a life long Rhino he turned them down to sign for Wakefield. I believe Tony Drury and John Kear were both influential in his decision.

I do think his first choice would of been to stay, but under the current circumstances that wasn't the case and he's had to make a decision for his future. I understand he had more attractive offers than Castleford, but chose them to be near his family and because they were decent with him every time he has spoken to them. Hardly the behaviour of someone using clubs to help his career progress.

However, after hearing of his other offers, I reckon Darryl Powell must have some embarrassing photos of him to convince him to go there!

its no great shock that players leave the youth structure at wake citing poor management and coaching. The department is overseen by an ex player with no experience or proven track record in developing young players. The coaches within that system are mostly cast off's from other clubs with no history of success.
