I don't post on here very often, so if there are no posts down to this name it is because I lost my password and changed my ISP and it was easier to register under a different name but if I have made 10 posts, it would be tops (others were made as second row forward - if I recollect correctly

Why I don't know
In the midst of a crisis of whosoevers making, I have never read such unhelpful posts
One of the latest, which inspired me to write this was 'merger'
Have some people nothing better to do than think up a new topic.
Is it because people want to increase their no. of posts
There is a crisis, so what is the answer

Shoot the former chairman, or the former CEO, or the dancers
Let's shoot the cleaners as well

There are very few people who actually know what has/is going on, but it seems to be everyone's right to pronounce guilty verdicts on everybody
We blamed Ted, and probably rightly so. But he kept this club running when most wouldn't

We now blame Andrew Glover. But without him we wouldn't even be here now, whatever blame can be attached to him

Mistakes will have been made, by some, perhaps many, but they were probably made with the intention of trying to restore success to the club and give it what the supporters want
But to read some of the posts reminds me of the French Revolution. "Off with their heads". No trial - just execution
If the new chairman’s posts are to be believed, then most of the posters who post ' this player has been sold' or 'that one is going' are either blatant liars, or at best misguided
What is all this doing to the club's already tarnished reputation and what is it doing to help the club and those trying to sort it out
The chairman shouldn't have to keep coming on here and firefighting.
He hasn't got time for that. He is doing everything he can, apparently to try and sort this out the best way he can and ultimately that may mean selling players or it may not, but he is charged with that responsibility
What do the comments on this board say to the players?
Their morale must already be low before they read the doom and gloom on here
If people have time on their hands, use it on something of value - maybe thinking of initiatives where money can be raised, like Bradford fans did. Oh yes they got help from other sources but they were more constructive than destructive as a fan base
And that's what this club needs now if it is to survive. Constructive comments, constructive acts, not things that destroy morale or instil fear into people
If I were the chairman and read this board I would say to the majority of posters - "stuff you. I'm off, you don't deserve this club, however many bad mistakes have been made in the past"
So let’s stop baying for blood, and accusing people without evidence, and passing on this disconcerting rumour or that, and asking for mergers as though it is a lost cause and let's spend the time that we have in fighting for the cause that really all of you believe in - the survival of Wakefield Trinity. Because deep down that's what most of you really want.
But it won't happen without help from you, or me

Remember what JFK said many years ago “ask not what your country can do for you — ask what you can do for your country" and then substitute club for country

And lastly, ( and I probably won't read your comments on my post, because I have made a conscious decision not to read any more of what is mostly negativity and rumour, and in some cases mischief also) There is an old Yorkshire saying that says " if thy ant got owt good to say, keep thi gob shut"

It is forum and you have now had you say and told people to shut up unless they agree with you.

Whatever has happened, it now appears that if the club is to survive we all have to pull together and not fight amongst ourselves.

Michael Carter has put HIS HOUSE on the line to try and rescue the club and still we have people giving him grief or at least being pretty unhelpful.


Say what you like about them but if this was our opponents this afternoon in this situation, do you think their fans would be fighting each other or fighting to save their club ?

I think what he's saying s that it's crap enough at the moment without having to make it crapper by making stuff up.

Opinions are one thing - making stuff up to support your thirst for blood is another!

The same sorts of discussion will be going on in the pubs and bars before and after match, at half time and even during match.
Behind the east stand as long as I can remember there were always those in the know holding forth, the perpetual pessimists, the optimists and the sack the board crew.
By the way no one is more loyal than myself and discussing merger options is not disloyalty.
I am motivated by the fact that I am sick of the same teams at the top all the time,and would really like the Wakefield district to be fulfilling its potential.
As it aint gonna be a any of the three from the area in the immediate future I really hope Hudds win Grand Final and Salford ruffle a few feathers next season.

At the end of the day, this is a forum...where folk give their views and opinions, and spread rumours about what they've heard on the grapevine.... Its not a meeting place for business analysts or strategists who are dealing in facts and if the aforementioned rumours, opinions, views and speculation really gets to people that much, perhaps they should consider not using the forum.

The OP makes some interesting points - on an internet message board incidentally - so it's rather pointless within that, to ask other people not to make their own points on the same internet message board.

The merger thread by the way, is not in any way intended to be unhelpful; I thought it was a very interesting and surprisingly grown-up discussion.

I don't know Mr. Carter personally, and have no desire to either, but I really hope he hasn't put his house on the line to rescue us from another mess.
