| Just a different angle on the "best of" theme, how about teams of crowd pleasers - the guys who brought the punters through the gates. Mine would be:
Gerry Round
Keith Slater
Keith Smith
Neil Fox
Andy Fletcher
David Topliss
Joe Bonner
Nigel Bell
Alan McCurrie
Trevor Skerrett
Richard Slater
Graham Idle
Mike Lampkowski
Mick Morgan
Don Fox
Nigel Wright
Gary Cooper
And not an Aussie among them!!

| Would have to have Bill Ashurst in the team. I also loved watching John Burke who was awesome in the 1979 season and went on tour with the Lions at the end of the season alongside Toppo and Skerett.

| I think he bigger picture is that apart from a couple of Cumbrians, these are all west Yorkshire lads who put a smile on your face when you watched them. The talent has always been there and occasionally forces its way through to the top.

| Nigel Bell. All was well in the world when Nigel took to the field.
PS, anybody think that new bloke in Emmerdale is the spitting image of Don Fox?? Not that I watch Emmerdale you understand

| Glad to see Keith Slater get a mention .
Seem to remember he is joint record try scorer in a match.
7 along with Freddie Smith.
Freddie could shift as well.

| Loved to watch the men with real pace
Lindsey Rutherforth (Try against Hull on Grandstand)
Andy Mason (Best pre match warm up routine ever)
David Jones (For catching Martin Offiah and getting the biggest cheer ever for a non try event)
Michael Jackson (Gret pace for a second rower)

Chris Perry in a crowd pleaser team ??
I always felt sorry for the bloke, it was as though the team had been picked already and he got to fill in for someone who didnt turn up.
He should be in the "most versitile players" team but, not in the entertainers.
I would also put either of our current wingers ahead of Fletcher.
Billy Conway was top value though, never more that 10 minutes from a scrap

| Andy Mason was one of the main ones for me when i when i started watching regularly. Managing to get him in a gap and scampering clear was always a highlight. Just didn't happen nearly often enough!!

They used to kick downfield for him straight from a scrum, he sprinted, gathered the ball and scored only for the ref to blow up for offside cos the ref obviously couldn't believe he could make so much ground up. No way offside, would never have happened to Wigan, the offside call I mean.
