I was hoping someone could help me as I have contacted the club twice and Eastmoor where they trained but no one has come back to me.

My daughter trained with the girls at Eastmoor for a few months but then the coach lost her job so it ended. Have they carried on?

Any help would be appreciated. She enjoyed it and wanted to carry on.

Sandal Spartans are hoping to have a Girls team next season, Clare Marlow had originally agreed to transfer across to us but her employment changes made that impossible. We now have a new Coach waiting to get started and potentially a whole bunch of girls waiting to join.

If you're stuck and need a team to play for then by all means keep us in mind and watch our situation for developments.

Failing that i believe that Castleford Panthers do have a girls set up. i know they used to do but not sure if they still have, apart Wakefield currently have no ladies rugby league team.

How old is the girl who is wanting to play as if she is nearing 16 she can start and train with a womens team with a view to registering after her 16th birthday if that is any good to you.

She is 13 and Sandal sounds good as it is five minutes from where we live.

The team we're hoping to start is U14s and we have a large number of girls from Ossett Academy wanting to join so we ought to be able to field a full team on a regular basis.

We're a very welcoming club and I'm sure your daughter would fit straight in and feel at home.

Sounds great that there will finally be some girls rugby in wakefield. Wish somewhere had a womens team. I know lots of ladies who play outa the city eg fev, batley, cas and normy to name a few when they wanted to play there was no option in wakey and thats been same since the early 90's when wakefield panthers moved into castleford rugby union club

Eastmoor Dragons will continue to host a girls team in the new year. The previous coach, Claire Marlow did a fantastic job at the club but unfortunately lost her job as a development officer and could no longer continue in the role. There is a great deal of interest in this team continuing and the club is in the process of recruiting a new coach with aim of starting training in January.
Things have gone a bit quiet with the girl’s team over the last few weeks as we have gone through a transitional period at the club due to a change of Junior Chairman. Ady Fleming has returned as Chairman recently and one of his priorities is to recruit a girls coach.
Rest assured, there will be a girls team at Eastmoor early in the New Year and all old and new players are welcome

We weren't able to get up and running for the start of the season, due to being unable to find a female coach.

We're still on the look-out though and if we manage to make any progress, will update on here and our website.

Is that being PC or is it a legal requirement?

Both, plus it's a practical issue - coach needs to be able to go in and out the dressing room for team talks etc.

Unfortunately, female coaches are like hens teeth!
