| Jamie Peacock has announced his international retirement, with immediate efffect, according to the SL website.
It looks like the last couple of weeks may have made his mind up for him ?

| Fine servant to the international side, but probably the right time to go...

| A fine international stint that unfortunately, should have ended last year, so new forwards could be tested against the Exiles in readiness for the WC.
Fair play to the bloke though - I wonder if Mason will make himself available for the Aussies again now?

Totally agree Bren, he tried one season too many and father time caught up with him a couple of weeks ago, although its probably fair to say he has not been as formidable a prop for the last couple of seasons.
Who do you think should replace him ?

| Larne Patrick, Lee Mossop and LMS all look like they could step up.
In terms of captaincy, I suppose O'Loughlin will get it, although I don't think he's cut from the same cloth as Peacock.

| Presumably he will now stop bleating on about there being too many fixtures.
In a couple of years he'll be wishing he could still play thirty odd matches a year.

| Its a shame that we have exactly the same situation as we did with Farrell and Sculthorpe. Both good captains, both playing the same position. Both strong and very skillful.
Unfortunately Sinfield and O'Loughlin are like school boys in size compared to them, which makes the talent and captaincy skills less appealling at international level.

| Thanks for your efforts for GB and England, Jamie. I'll never forget you putting Willie Mason in his place after flooring Stuart Fielden in Sydney in 2007. At least we've got some talented young forwards knocking on the door to get in the England squad.
