Got to agree, season was over as far as the top eight was concerned, lets give our youngsters some game time. I am not saying plat 5 or more but put two in the squad every week. Today was very poor

Ellis in for Wood & Tony in for Mathers would be two i'd make straight away

I like tony but a young fullback may be screaming for the oportunity to get out to France. We have good young players in cowling, Kaye, grayston who would relish the taste of 1st team action.

I agree, although I think it's about time Andy Ellis got a game, Kyle Wood has offered little in recent weeks IMO.

A Kyle wood type player is good when on the front foot. Not the type player for a tight game with defence not on top.

Could maybe do with recalling Ellis and sending Wood in his place?

Ellis has been treated poorly in my view, he needs to be given a run out.

I agree that James & Johnson surely must be in the 17 next week? We need size, power and players with a good engine on the pitch. If Southern is injured then the prop position from the bench must go to James at least. Can Wildie be brought back and used at hooker? Need to freshen things up with a couple of new introductions.

His tackling is one of his strong points and someone who is a teams player of the year one year surely deserves a chance in place of Wood, someone who imho has gone backwards this year.

He was sent to Feath to improve his defence as this is the weakest point of his game which was stated at the time he went so that argument is a non- starter. However I do believe he should get a run sooner rather than later.

I haven't seen Isaac John playing in the reserves so don't know but is he an option back at Stand-off and move Sykes to Full-Back?

I like Mathers and he has been one of our stand out players so far, but the last 3 games have been a bit dodgy and he has made more errors than is acceptable. Is it time for someone else to get a chance?


Like it or not, at the moment, John is under contract for next year, Mathers is not, Sykes is not. Our chance (slim as it was) of making the 8 is gone after 2 defeats in 6 days that should both have been won. Now is the time to start building for next year and giving game time to those players who are going to be here.

We never had a chance of the top 8 anyway. If we achieve 10th we have majorly over-achieved. 11th is my prediction.

All players have off days, sometimes teams have them together. Don't forget this is pretty much the same squad that won three in a row. Let's get some perspective. We nearly beat Leeds (World Champs) and put 40 past them, and were a couple of mistakes away from beating Bradford which would have put us 10th. As it is, they need to move on, go to Catalans (knowing they have beat them already), and then do their best to retain focus. Wholesale changes could be more damaging.

Dropping one player for one game to give them a breather/kick up the jacksee may be in order though.
