We need two 'props' on the bench as last week proved so there should be both Southern and Johnson there as they are the closest thing we have got left to 'props' with injury and suspension. Unless they look at Walshaw/Mariano as props based purely on their size?

Southern is not a prop. Lauitiiti, on the other hand, would be an adequate prop "replacement".

I know you're thinking about his size and presence but Lauititi is a genuine second row who gives us some genuine strike power on the edge going through the centre positions. To use him as a prop would be almost criminal but it wouldn't surprise me if it happened with the odd prop decison made last game.



I'd rather they get Spiers back or play any other second row (except Kirmond) there than use Lauititi there. They might put Gout straight in against Warrington at 8?

but if the first team do not have a game this weekend then he is available for U 20s which I think serves as his one match ban , so he should be ok for the week after. Well that is how it used to work anyway.

I think its changed they only count at the level you received the ban at, so u20's won't count.
