Anyone heard anything about the new roofing is going to be erected at Belle Vue.I had heard that the first section was supposed to be completed for the HULL KR game.Nothing seems to have happened while passing ground yesterday.

The original structures proved to be unviable regarding snow and wind loading, The vertical supports were going to be over 700mm wide, and in one particular section over 2m. New designs were received last Tuesday and if acceptable it will take approximately 5 weeks from order to completion of installation.

The only bug bear of mine is why this wasn’t done in the off season or before it went into planning, but as long as it gets done I don’t suppose it matters. The start of season dead line was a club imposed one, not the RFL’s. The license document only stipulated that cover would be put up at some stage this season.

Reading between the lines, I wonder if the structure that was originally planned was a cheaper option - understandable given the (hopefully) temporary nature of our tenure at BV - and that the recent investment by a new member of the BoD has allowed us to upgrade to something a bit posher?

Just a thought.

Possibly, and Glover did state the new covers would look more like permanent structures than tempary.

I must admit, Belle View was showing its age against Cas. I hope the signs have gone back up and it's had a lick of paint here and there prior to Sunday.

Its quite odd, when you visit the ground, without the advertising boards in place. They do add something to the aesthetics of the place.

Busy week down at BV - hopefully some of the rougher edges will be gone for Sunday's game.

Designs hopefully getting signed off today. If so should be ready for the game against the Dragons. It may boost a usually poorly attended match with people's curiosity.
