Why the Betfair link? Has it been mentioned or are they connected with Stobart?

if they put some whacking great decals on their trucks it could be a brillaint coup.

They were after the sponsor rights too, and the betfairsuperleague.com was registered a week or two back. However it seems they were just outbid.

That's a good partner and a brand we needn't feel uncomfortable about, as some of the other bidders were.

The inference in the Press last week was that Betfair had offered the highest sum but it was being put to all clubs to see if they were OK with being sponsored by a betting company.
Maybe Stobarts came back in with a bigger offer, or maybe the clubs decided against Betfair????

Apparently Stobart offering little / even no cash but offering the trucks as advertising etc so RFL judged best deal. Tbh probably is more needed.

I can't see the RFL doing anything other than accept the best financial deal, if only to keep Nigel Woods/Eric Pickles (you never see them together!!!!) in pies.
The adverts on the side of the trucks would be phenomenal for the game, however cash is king.
Perhaps some kind of deal has been done that will come out of the RFLs marketing budget or will mean they won't need one.
Good deal for the game as a whole i'd say.

Read some bizarre postings on these forums.I would put this in my top 10.

To be fair though from a marketing point of view, adverts on the back of each van (they have LOADS of the bloody things!) would be a great step forward for the game!
