Quote brettoncat="brettoncat"Seeing as we all agree about being light in the forwards what about someone like Stu Dickins from Fev. Good tough forward and can kick as well. I know his is not the youngest but would surely be worth a year. Go easy with the replies

If you are going to be shot down it will be for stating the obvious. I think we have got enough players capable of playing Prop. It's not that we won't compete, we will - players will fill the gaps. However there is no doubt that a Tronc or a Watene would be the final piece of the jigsaw and would change us IMO from good outside bet to top eight certainty so long as we are lucky.
Bit I don't get is that people were bagging Fozzard when he was a possibility - logically that makes Dickens is non starter. Say what you like about Fozzard, even on one leg he's better than Dickens (who is a decent lower league player and a small one as well). What Trin fans seem to want is a grizzled old pro who is cheap, can offer us another year yet at the same time has to be at the peak of his game
My suggestions (don't know how in favour they are at their existing club)
Paul Jackson
Nick Scruton - but to be honest I can't see much else.
Problem with NL1 + 2 players isn't that they are not good enough it's because they can't risk good jobs going full time on a one year deal - which is all they will get. There are a number of good props in the National Leagues and in the current economy that is where they will stay - which is sad.
