That is really disappointing i'm afraid, that means that since the extension of the deadline we have sold practically nothing!!!

The lack of contined momentum is indeed dissapointing, however the success of the promotion overall, should not be understated.
The people of Wakefield are always going to take some convincing as far as trinity is concerned, following too many years of abuse.
3,500 this year gives (following a successful season!!) a new target for next season and the momentum continues.
NM gets the green light, and a final year at BV could see us bust through the 5000 figure, and then before we know it, where selling STs for NM and who knows????

I agree. 3,500 (if it stays at that) is a solid platform to build on. At least everyone can say they've had a fair chance of buying into the deal as well. A decent season next season, and we can really start to move forward. How many season ticket holders did we have per season on average in the past?

[quote="headhunter":lnxdgxk2]Union people are idiots. They almost universally accept that league is a better, faster game played by better athletes, yet for some reason they continue to disregard and belittle it. That game is tedious as hell from start to finish. If he'd ever played or even bothered to give more than a fleeting chance to league he would realise that the game is far more 'technical' than Union ever could be. Booting the ball into touch, scrummaging and forming rucks and mauls aren't areas that involve any skill, technique or mental capacity whatsoever. These are clumsy, outdated facets of the game that are also extremely uninteresting to watch and thus have to be defended in some way by people who are too prejudiced to see the truth.[/quote:lnxdgxk2]: |

| If you've managed 3.5k season ticket holders you've done brilliantly IMO.
Most games ive been to belle view you've had probably only 3.5k -4k home fans on for the game, so to have 3.5k season tickets should mean a significant increase in crowds with under 5k gates being a thing of the past when you add on pay on the day and away support. 3.5k ST could see you average over 7k which would be a massive achievement.

Hmm, well we'd sold just over 2500 at the start of October IIRC so another 1000 in 2 months isn't too bad imo - We might even end up with 4000 - if we can get 500 people to pay top whack before Feb.

| I don't think the number so far is a bad thing at all.
Of course when you set a target and don't get there it is disappointing but being honest, they put a lot of pressure on to get the deal on the first deadline. We achieved our 2,500 then and this would have been made up of supporters who either wanted one anyway, or were tempted by the cheap deal. The ones left are now those that weren't sure and wanted tos ee what everybody else did, and jumped on the bandwagon when the deal was extended.
In reality the late group was never going to be a big one. If you weren't tempted by the first deal you are unlikely to suddenly change your mind and get one.
The late buyers group will be expanded by Christmas presents for friends who couldn't afford them first time round but to get another 1,500 was always a stretch target.
Next season, after bigger crowds and hopefully more successful team we could be looking at increasing the number, but for now I think they are doing well.
Out of interest, how do the sales compare to previous years? Did we get this many in the playoff years?

| There will be a huge number of season tickets bought in the two week run up to the first game of the new season, that's normal and happens every year irrespective of offers or confidence in the club.
I wouldn't be surprised if we reach 4,500.

And last year we sold very few season tickets, how does that add up to huge numbers sold before the first game?

| When I was in the Ridings on Saturday ordering mine, my dad's and my boy's there were a few in front of me and some waiting too. The girl on the desk said they'd had a cracking week and expected it to get really busy later that day as they'd been inundated all week. We can't be that far off if in that 15 minutes alone we had sold maybe another 15 to 20. There are always people who wait right until the last minute. My mate in Barnsley didn't even know about the offer so I sent him down to Belle Vue this morning. The club has done a decent marketing job I think and certainly this extension will have boosted the numbers considerably.

It is "Fifita" not "Fafita"
If you don't know the difference between "there", "their" and "they're" I might get annoyed.

Am just curious in case anyone has heard anything.
