| Just read in the express they could go out of business in as little as 7 days it would be a shame as they are fairly high in the football league pyramid and with investment could give Wakefield it's first ever football league club. In a perfect world and with the right investment they should be involved with Newmarket project with us and see how they kick on up the leagues with top class facilities as a home + a football club would unlock more grants. People will disagree but there is a Market for pro football in this city especially with alot of dissalutioned LUFC fans about at the moment. In the mean time maybe we could let them play at Belle Vue (if we can with us being tenants ourselves) or would that be stepping on guisleys toes if they still train there (don't want to open a S Parkin debate again) if Wakefield F C came under the same sporting umbrella with us it might end up benefiting us both.

Some talk of Bradford Northern and some of Hull and Leeds
Of Wigan and St Helens and such great teams as these
Of all the teams in Rugby league with me you will agree
The best team in the whole wide world is Wakefield Trinity!

Totally agree. The idea of a sporting partnership between all Wakefield sporting clubs is something that's been put forward before & something I would welcome with open arms.
Wakefield FC should be tenants at Newmarket & in a perfect world part of the same sporting umbrella.
I've been known to attend Barnsley games, but pay nothing more than a passing interest in anything to do with football, IMO mainly because I have no natural connection. For me sporting loyalty is founded upon civic pride & as Wakefield has no pro team I've never been able to build up any significant connection to any team.
If they do go into administration AG could do worse than pick them up much like he did us. He's shown that massive improvements can come from relatively small (& inexpensive) changes & can make the world of difference. WFC could be run from a 2 man team within the existing WTW structure.
People may shoot this down but IMO this could be the solution to a great many problems.
The stadium would be in use all year round. While I admit WFC may not attract that many fans at the moment IMO we should be thinking long term. This could be something we could grow within our city, to compliment the renewed feeling of growth & prosperity coming from WTW.
All it takes is forward planning & a sound business planning- two qualities AG has proven to all IMO.
(AG is a HT fan so in reality I doubt he'll be into it- Sir Rodney Walker???)

| It cost too much to get into the games (when they played at College Grove) considering the standard of play.
We need to have other teams playing at Newmarket, but again would anyone actually go watch them?

| Playing in the league WFC are plating at the mo crowds probably won't go up but with a bit of marketing at going up the leagues in a new stadium the crowds would shoot up. When all the rumours regarding Parkin wanting WTRLFC to enable him to move Guisley into Wakefield & ultimately newmarket and bringing pro football to the city of wakefield, why doesnt he try it with WFC. It would be a brilliant achievement on your cv to be able to claim you brought pro football to the biggest place in England without a proteam. I think I will help he community stadium trust Evan though funding is in place football attracts more grants etc

| Agreed get them on board, I have no real interest except for a soft spot for Barnsley but I would look on it differently if Wakefield had a team worth watching.

I think we all want Wakefield sporting teams to do well that's why in my opium Newmarket is so important not just for WTRLFC. Do you know if the community stadium trust ever approached WFC about playing at Newmarket?

| I feel sorry for Wakefield FC, but they will never survive on the crowds they get. Moving to the community stadium would bankrupt them in 2 seconds. Even if they moved up into the football league they'd struggle to attract enough fans to pay for the hire, let alone player wages etc.

| Not been a director of Wakefield FC myself, I don't know whether anyone has approached Wakefield FC with a view to becoming part of Newmarket and playing back in Wakefield.
Do you know whether the talks you referred to have happened recently?

| I can see the interest of them playing from the same stadium to make the concept of Newmarket work but it would have to be separate from Trinity, I would be fuming if a football club killed our club off
does anyone know the value of the club and what will happen to the ground on Eastmoor Road.
