Thought given the money we are spending and the number of players we are allegedly signing, we should be familiar with the salary cap rules - well these are they - why is nothing ever easy in super league !!!

The Super League operates under a salary cap system that will calculate a club’s salary cap position at the start of and throughout the season.

The combined earnings of the top 25 players must not exceed £1.6 million.
Clubs will only be allowed to sign a new player if they have room under the cap.
Clubs are allowed to spend a maximum of £50,000 on players outside the top 25 earners who have made at least one first grade appearance for the club during the year.
Costs for players outside of the top 25 earners who do not make a first team appearance will be unregulated.
Any player who has played for the same club for at least 10 consecutive seasons will have half their salary excluded from the salary cap for his 11th and subsequent seasons. This is subject to a maximum of £50,000 for any one club

I realise that you haven't said this directly, but reading the clubs Facebook page, others seem worried about our recruitment and the salary cap. We won't be anywhere near the salary cap. We might be near the clubs self imposed spending cap, but the league salary cap we are way off. The players we have signed don't command anywhere close to what the Warrington's of this world must.

Take their squad from last season:
Monaghan, Monaghan, King, Briers, Hodgson, Morley, Westwood, Higham, Solomona.

When you look at the likes of those and compare them to the likes of:
Fox, Lauititi, Smith, John, Mellars, Collis, Southern, Cockayne, Morrison, Ellis

We're not even close.

Or if we are, we need to be very worried about the financial stability of the club again given the over the odds paying of wages!

It was said we were going to be spending £1.3million this year so that will be the figure we are working to. I imagine it could be increased if sales of season tickets, merchandise, etc exceeds expectations so if you want more, or better quality, players then get spending quick!

Its because we are not used to spending stop worrying for other clubs this is normal !!! I for one wont mind some of the 1873 membership money going towards the stability of the club.

As Wildycat says, we are nowhere near the cap limit so let's not go off on one worrying about it!

We might be pushing the boundaries of our self imposed club salary limit but there will no doubt be more players leaving and a couple more joining, which will help to reduce the spend but increase the quality.

You've changed your tune!!! Only two weeks again you were criticising the club and threatening to pull your 1873 money after Murphy went to Hudds. Now you want the money ring fenced to keep hold of our bright young stars in the academy used for the first team!

Have a word with yourself!
