| Thank you RFL for making the last 2 years incredibley crap for Wakefield some of it down to the last owners but not being able to keep players cant sign anyone allways looking over our shoulder for 2-3 years at the 26th . Now look at us team of young lads who are trying but stuggling now with all SL training catching up with them and some plainly not good enough. Hard to watch and we aint been able to get off our RFL leash its horrible the system does not work. ITs a sad state of affairs. Wish Mr Glover would have taken over 2 years ago.

| if the rfl hadn't have brought in this stupid franchise then the team would still be putting the effort in because of the reward at the end of it but they have nothing to play for

| I am watching this stuff unfurl from the sun-stained beaches of Southern Sydney... and feel every bit of negative emotion...
To me it seems quite clear that the club is in the process of being 'asset stripped' prior to the official announcement...
If Trinity have the worst franchise bid across all the clubs I will happily accept a negative decision... no arguments! However I will want to see the bid documentation and Savillie's recommendations before I would believe any word coming out of RFL HQ... (I am a qualified auditor and business excellence award assessor... so WILL know what I am looking at!)
Open and honest reporting leading to a just decision is the only way. Anything less and I am done with RL in the UK, the game can go to 'hell in a handbasket!'...
the rubbish going on there is even spoiling my enjoyment of the game over here. I still remember that last game at Cas after the announcment for SuperLeague.... the echoes of that game ring loud today!

I agree i have allways said surely we could take the RFL to court as our bid will not be the worsed bid especially with the new ground improvements if our bid is level with other teams how will this give them the right to kick us about. Before Mr Glover came along we had the worse bid but now its a strong bid.

Might be wrong but didn't all clubs agree that the final decision from the RFL could not be challenged in court and it had to be accepted?
This says to me that the RFL know that their decision is going to be very dubious but nothing can be done about it.

Yes I think you have to agree to that or you can not apply for a license.

Would not have thought it really mattered as we were already in SL and applying for a new licence.AG would have known when he took over what the so called rules were and will have agreed to them I would have thought.

So poor management is the RFL's fault?

Nothing the RFL says could stop a legal challenge, the RFL has no power to enforce it's rules other than by the consent of the clubs involved. It could suspend a club but a court could overide that decision and any other that conflicted with business or employment law. The RFL is a mickey mouse organisation, it can make rules but only the Courts can enforce them.
That said no one will challenge it - it could succeed but where the value is to us I'm not sure - it's like demanding an invite to a party where no one likes you and no one will talk to you.

That is probably why the RFL insisted all clubs agree to it knowing that the clubs most under threat could not financially afford to challenge the decision.

YOU'VE got it in one VASTMAN regarding the legality of the process. The Clubs have to agree that they won't challenge the result but from a legal point of view that agreement is worthless. But which of the clubs would have the bottle or the funds to take such an action? Widnes were told 3 years ago to keep sweet and quiet and they would get a place in three years - they simply had to meet the criteria of winning one of the appropriate competitions.
The licence application is a farce will be worded to achieve anything the RFL require. So if they want to give the boot to one Club then it's Cas or Wakey - and I don't believe either of those clubs should go. I can think immediately of three clubs who have less credentials to stay in SL !!!

| Just because the clubs agreed not to fight it may not stop someone outside the club from doing so, anyone got any cash?

| We've had this discussion several times on here in recent months; the conclusion every time we do so is that the RFL can't preclude a club from challenging the franchising process simply by stating that the act of applying means that they agree not to; it's something to do with contract law and unfair terms, but I forget the detail. In short - if a contract is unfair, it can't be enforced and this one almost certainly would be.
In the real world however, no club would mount a legal challenge - the legal costs would be astronomical and the long-term consequences would be fatal for that club.
