Interesting, I may be reading too much into this, but from an outside observer that is not the sort of appointment I would expect from a team that doubt the success of their franchise application, even less likely he would leave YEP if he thought there was a doubt?

irrespective of his abilities (which I have no reason to doubt), it does seem a positive action to me.

Good luck to him the problem is that normally when you pay peanuts you get...... and we pay peanuts. I hope its performance related as with him being a fan as well he will give that little bit more. Hopefully he will relialise the cartoon cat is a marketing disaster and it has to go.Hope he doesn't get disalusioned with the corner shop run company.

Re the cartoon cat by the way - I'm not over-enamoured with the Americanisation of RL either, but both my kids love Daddy Cool and I guess that's the point. A lot of what's being done now is about the people who'll be supporting the club when I, with my thermos of tea and stubborn refusal to enjoy X-Factor pre-match entertainment or to high-five mascots, am pushing up daisies.

How do you work that out, its not my cup of tea but if its working with the younger next generation fans so be it.

I very much doubt me and you are the target areas, our generations have shown we can't/won't support the club at a level that takes us forward (sadly) Maybe they are looking forwards and not back.

I have no problem with Daddy Cool I can see the obvious advantages, matchday with the kids..mine included rush to the front to shake his hand and she has had her picture taken with her and from the community aspect going round schools.

If you read my post it relates to the badge on the shirt..it says nothing about my town. If you think its worked commercially for us as a club and it has attracted more supporters well it is a sad inditement on our club.

Like i said before good luck to the guy...because we have just played at it before.
