That we have signed Fozzard and Penny was not at match yesterday due to work so might have ben said then ?

I heard at the match yesterday that 3 SL clubs were interested in him, but I dont think we were one of them.

The Penny rumour has been around for a while and i have herd that this is a nailed on 1 year deal.

As for Fozzard, i heard a coupple of months ago that he wanted to have one season at his home town club but i imagine his wages will be fairly high and is he past it?

Would much rather us take Wheeldon (if rumors are true) than Fozzard...

Agreed. He won't be cheap and is past his best, we need to get away from making this type of signing

i think fozzard would be a good signing for wakey for one season...
and i dont think his wages would be all that high seeing as he is coming to the end of his playing career.
you lot deserve better treatement from the board ..but as usual as long as they keep receiving your money to watch games naff all get's done about it.

I agree with the above poster. I can't see Fozzard being in a position to demand a big wage because he'll be 34 by the time the season starts, he's way past his best, injury-prone, and I can't see many other SuperLeague clubs being interested in him. He is a liability aswell with the amount of penalties he gives away, both in attack and defence. The last few weeks, even with injuries to our other forwards Dixon, Fa'asavalu, Cunningham etc., Saints have still not picked him, letting him play for the Reserves instead. That says something to me, and from what I've read it seems Fozzard may have picked up another injury yesterday. He's good to have around in the dressing room to raise morale etc., but on the playing front he offers very little nowadays.

Fozzard was disappointing for us last year and I was shocked when saints took him back this year. Never seemed to make any impact, go through a tackle or even get up quick. Looked finished then so 2 years further down the line would be a waste of cash.

Were we not offered him for Jay Pitts?? If so, big mistake.
