On Saturday evening following the Round 21 home match against Hull FC the Wildcats are going to stage a photo session which will form the basis of their new publicity campaign around the motto ‘Together we’re strong!”

Players from the club’s senior teams and staff will all gather at the stadium to have a photograph taken which will form the centre piece of the new campaign and the club want as many loyal Wildcat fans as possible to help them by joining the players and staff in the photograph.

James Elston, the club’s Chief Executive, said: “It would be wonderful if as many fans as possible could spare us some of their time and join everybody who works or plays down at the Wildcats on the photograph.
“It should be a wonderful experience for everybody involved and a great memento for future years.”

So why don’t you come down to Belle Vue on Saturday for some great Rugby League action. The Reserves start the party by playing Hull FC Reserves kicking off at 5.00pm and then comes the Engage Super League action when the first team play the Black and Whites, kicking off 7.30pm.

After the game any fans who want to take part in the photo shoot will be given instructions about how the participate by the club’s match day staff and besides standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the Wildcat players as they battle for a place in the top-eight play of positions you can have a place in a Wakefield snapshot in time!

A great idea and it good to see the club actively perusing new ways of marketing the club.

With regards to the message the shoot is trying to portray, unfortunately it couldn’t have come at a worse time with the amount of division amongst the supporters. Another poor show on Saturday and we may end up with just the Hull FC supporters standing shoulder to shoulder with the Trinity players as all the home fans will have buggered of home by the time of the shoot.

Having to face the fans after the game might just be the spurr the players need. otherwise there's gonna be a lot of glum / angry/ sad (your description here) faces on that photograph.

I don't think they need any more motivation. Angry fans are not needed at this point (IMHO)

Saying that, I am disappointed that I can't make the game so won't get my picture taken. Wonder if my dad will take a PopTart face mask for me?!?!

I disagree; with no news on the stadium front and at this stage, crap results, the boxes we can tick on the SL franchise application are looking a bit sp. Therefore, ANY kind of fan is needed right now and unlike some posters on here who are quick to tell others they perceive as less 'loyal' than themselves to stay away, the club would do well to launch a major charm offensive to get the floaters back on side.

A few weeks of consistent effort would get most of the floaters back on side. We all feel a bit peeved at the minute but I would be back like a shot if we could just see some effort (win or lose - although wins would be nice!!)

Can't go on Saturday as I am away but it's probably come at a good time for me because I would have had to seriously consider it (even with my ticket already paid for). Having said that a 2 week break and then a game against Cas will get me back there supporting the lads again. I just hope they can prove to me they are worth the effort!!
