not one to normally slate the team but i do feel a little bit cheated

It does make you wonder why we nearly always push Leeds but capitulate versus Huddersfield before the game even kicks-off.

It was usually a case of unpaid wages, player bust-ups or lack of squad quality but this year it certainly seems motivation. I'm not even sure confidence comes into it now.

As far being cheated I reckon that is spot on. I didn't go yesterday, but listening to it on the radio both the commentator and Andy Raleigh said that they thought the result would probably be as it was, but the score would be much closer because (as Andy Raleigh said) Wakefield are a far better side than how they played against Wigan. You can make all the excuses in the world but lets not forget a couple of years ago Wigan were not much better than we are now, but unlike us a club they don't settle for mediocrity as success.

they have more money than us and therefore better players!

They have always had more money than us, but a couple of seasons ago they still had better players than us, but weren't much better, if in fact they were any better. The thing they did was bring local lads into the side ones who wanted to play for them. Anyone of their players would walk straight into our side, unfortunately the same can't be said for ours.

Typical Kear for me - can get us up for the "cup final" type games, but struggles to rouse them for many other fixtures. It would appear the pattern from his previous roles is repeating itself.

A couple of Rhino's fans at work were surprised by yesterdays result. They thought we'd have given Wigan a good run for their money after the game at Headingley last week.

I cannot imagine any player deciding to consciously play well against Leeds and then play badly against Wigan.

Anyone who has played sport regularly knows that different things make you respond in different ways, not all conscious.

It's like saying that if Korki does a big run because he is feeling more aggressive after just being punched that the next run should be the same otherwise he is cheating the fans. It just doesn't work that way.
Same as putting 110% into a game sometimes means you are flat the game after if you didn't get the spoils.
If it wasn't like that there would be no need for coaches or sports psychologists and we wouldn't bet on games cos everyone would play in exactly the same way each week.

The stats ultimately prove you wrong on that.
