just thought id even the score up , without a doubt the most successful coach in my time watching the club. it will take more than 1 bad season to change my mind . we have lost the engine room of the ship that set sail in febuary but im sure that the life rafts will bring more good fortune upon us .#

All depends on what classes as 'success' I guess. Toppo won the Yorkshire Cup and got us in the play-offs, Kelly got us promoted, McNally got us so close to the Final Eliminator, Harbin kept us up with a points deduction and a load of rubbish!

Kear saved the club. So if not the most successful he is the most important.

We've had great success....and then a few players leaving causes us to lose a few games and everybody is running round like headless chickens saying we should sack everybody.

All those moaning should go back to the Leeds thread and see what they said there.

agree jk did save the club but this is not entertainment. fansare voting with their feet,look how many went last night, there was more down london. i wouldnt be bothered if we played the young lads and got hammered at least they support the club

i have come to the conclusion that despite everything that happens certain posters will defend the club through everything.its upto you are you watching the games

Yes its boring at the minute, but we have had plenty of exciting rugby brought to us by Kear since he came - we've had what a 1/4 of the season where we've been crap - a lot better than the 1/4 of a century before him

Do people want a return to the instability of the first seven seasons of SL, chopping and changing coaches when ever form took a turn for the worse? I know I don’t. Kear has brought stability to the club and now there is no relegation he has earned the chance to sort the current mess out.

Trinity had a bad run of form last season at roughly the same time and that was with Brough and Drew in the line up. They ended up going on possibly the best run the club have ever been on in recent times towards the latter stages of the season.

The RL being served up right now is crap and to me it’s obviously played to the coaches instructions. I wasn’t at the match but by the sounds of it the tactics were right it was the execution that was the cause of the defeat. That’s the way it goes in sport.

Considering what I have seen from Wakefield in my relatively short time of watching them this is by no means the worse performing squad I have ever seen. Things have been so much more depressing and perhaps the recent spell of relatively good seasons has raised all of our expectations to an extent that when the club have a poor run of form it appears much worse then it ever has been.

I'll stick with JK too. We are going through it at the moment and it is up to individual players to stand up and be counted.

We could have done with Newton finishing, Brough moving and Tronc taking himself off home and Cooke coming in at the start of the season. Maybe we could have kept hold of Broughy but if he of stayed that in ists self could of caused more problems than him actually moving on.

It will take a bit of time and I have faith in JK and those lazy sods turning things around.


If there is no money to replace Broughy then JK will have to manage (like he and many wakefield coaches have done in the past) with the squad that he's got.

Stick for me. Who's better than him and can work with the mega bucks budget Wakey have?

What I don't understand is why we play the boring, one out, stick it up yer jumper stuff for most of the match and then, in the last ten minutes, start passing the ball around and, playing the best rugby of the whole 80 and, often, scoring. Why don't we play like that for more of the game? I'd rather we lost having tried to play rugby than lost playing the rubbish we're playing at the moment (Tbh I didn't even really enjoy beating Cas with the rubbish stuff!)

JK must stay, but he should be allowed to be honest about the constraints he has without fear of club penalty, if there are such constraints!
