Neither team, nor the game in general, were up to SL standard TBH
(with the exception of Brough, who was outstanding).

Childs didn't seem to get much wrong but did seem a bit over-picky at times in the second half.

Both sides gave him plenty of excuse though, espcially Salford.

we have to find the refs from somewhere and if he's the best of whats to come we have to hope that they improve

To be fair to him, im not sure he got that much wrong (not sure about the Moore knock on/forward pass??) but he refereed it to the book when alot of the time common sense could have prevailed, nobody would have complained and the game would have flowed alot better.
eg he re-set about 10 scrums when everyman and his dog knows it doesnt really matter if its set right in the first place.

A referees assesor would probably give him 10 out of 10, a spectator (from either side) about 4!

didn't seem to do a lot wrong but some people above me were slagging him for dissallowing jd's try but he was correct cos jd dropped it difficult conditions tonight, glad we have the points in the bag

at least Thaler had the balls to apologize to the saint at the next scrum knowing that he had messed up
