| Don't take this the wrong way,but after all the sad loses we've had of late i think all the minutes silences could start to disrupt the team?,could it not be better to invite his family later on in the season and have some kind of tribute then. And i mean no disrespect by this.

| Perhaps the family didn't want anything doing.
Perhaps they want something doing later in the season.
There could be any number of reasons why this wasn't done yesterday so let's not have a go at the club again without knowing facts.
Why do we always feel a need to blame the club for everything? Some things are not down to them.

| Agree with you jolly - find it very difficult to accept that there was not even a mention at Sundays game about Frank. The guy was an absolute legend for our club. I hope somebody from the club recognises this mistake and its rectified quickly !
And yes, Frank's funeral took place today in Sharlston.

| I was surprised by this.
It is disappointing to think that great players from earlier era's are not remembered by the club when they die because the majority of the fans were too young to see them play.
RIP Frank Mortimer - your exploits for Trinity will forever be recorded in the history of the club.

| Maybe in the future someone could write some history pieces for the programme or get permisson to reprint bits of the 100 Years book. Would be good to educate us all about our rich and varied past.

| Do not think we should be speculating on this subject. I would think that `the club ` like all clubs would need the permission of the family in order to have a minutes silence. It may be that the bereaved family would want to attend the game when the minutes silience took place. It may be that the next home game after the death of their loved one was to soon for the family, maybe the family want time to come to terms with their loss.
You can see, if you think, that there can be many reasons for a family not having a minutes silence so soon after the death of a loved one.
From the tone of a couple of posts it seems that some people have concluded that the club have refused the family a minutes silence, why on earth would you think that, in my experience the club have always honoured all our ex players, no doubt having taken the wishes of the family into account.
For posters to use terms like ` bad by the club ` and for zorro to use the term ` disgusting ` is indeed well out of order. I would suggest that the mods remove those offensive posts.

I think your post states all that needs to be stated in this case.
I'm locking this thread for now, because this kind of unfounded criticism is disrespectful to all parties involved.
As has been stated elsewhere umpteen times before, if anyone feels strongly about this or other issues, they should contact the club directly and seek information there first. At least get all the facts before the mud-slinging commences.
