Correct. A class stand off with a kicking game ought to be a priority. Theres a lot of Paul Sykes fans on here, so I'll get my tin hat on, but Im not one of them. I can recognise his contribution, but If we're serious about progression, I think we need a stand off who is quicker, tackles better and who has a lot of guile with ball in hand.... for me, its time for Sykes to go at the end of this year. I still feel he's living off last years 7 game purple patch somewhat.

Wildie as has been said looks like he is more settled to the interchange 9 role, leaving Goulding Jnr next in line....and he's hardly pulling up trees at Donnie and hasnt so much as threatened to break into our first team, even when Sykes was out.

So yes, a marquee stand off please Mr Glover.....

I don't think there are any ardent fans of Sykes, however right now its clear to see he is the best option at 6. There is nothing wrong with thinking Trinity need to upgrade this position, and in Issac John they alread had, but the reality of being able to attract better who compliments the team will dictate on whether Sykes will be the best option next year.

Exactly this. Availability and price are the two important factors here, good stand offs are highly sort after and as such don't come cheap. Sykes is the best we have at the moment and is doing ok so it will take a fair wedge to replace him with better quality and looking at who is OOC and available its pretty slim pickings at present.
