| It's a bloody shame that BV will not be an option but it's not the end of the world.
Let's hope that Dewsbury will provide Trinity with a reasonable home.
You never know maybe WM dc will decide to build a long awaited sports village at the Pugneys and benefit from visitors from all over the Yorkshire region.
From a personal point of view it's honestly think Wakefield would benefit from such a development and so would the council.

| My son, a member of the local and national Labour Party has just texted me to say that Trinity were apparently mentioned at the labour party meeting today and clarified a few things regarding Newmarket and how poor Clr Box gets the bame and that supporters expected to be bank rolled by WMDC. they were told that this was not general concensus of opinioln amongst supporters whose gripe is how the club was used to gain PP for site. Apparently later it was stated that it isn't the Councils place to invest in Trinity as a private concern.
Isn't this the same council that invested in The Ridings, Trinity Walk and Wakefield Europort - all private concerns?
Sorry if the above seems sketchy, but that's how I received it by text.

Most of that is about right but, it's not the investment (or lack of it) from WMDC that is the issue.
It's the lack of political will from WMDC to make the development happen and the granting of planning permission for Newcold, outside of the original site, hat is the issue.
Did he say whether anyone thought that WMDC may have hindered the development ?

They won't fight against wakefield council, they need to support councils and areas such as wakefield to try and restrengthen their position in the labour heartlands

| This is why the club/trust should put the truth out in the public domain surely. There can't be a one sided propaganda story put out all the time....the fact we are being discussed in such a negative false way needs addressing ....

| The people we really need to help spread the message are members from the opposition parties; the people who represent and stand for Tory, UKIP, Lib Dem and others. They will be able to use this as a way to expose how poor the labour council have been for the city and the region. It will give them something to hold over Box and Labour and they can help to try and hold them to account

To a certain extent yes but in the past no-one has really discussed the matter in a open way like Redcats described . Where was the meeting ? who was actually present and speaking about us?........

| What are the reasons for refusing Featherstone's offer? Having visited both Dewsbury and Fev.'s grounds last year with Leigh last season I would say Post Office Road was a no brainer!!

What's a no-brainer is having a strong opinion on a subject you know nothing about; this is a deep, complex and circuitous saga, of which you know only the briefest of headlines. In those circumstances, it's best to keep schtum, rather than be perceived as an ultracrepidarian.

A simple answer would be: a move to Fev would weaken the position of the club/trust when dealing with the local authority as they're both in the same authority, Dewsbury comes up Kirklees so would strengthen the position that the councils inaction has forced the club to leave the district. That's far from the right answer as in reality it's a very complex situation spamming three decades, but it's a very simplistic one

| It's a fair question. I'm sure it was good reasoning to discount Fev (assuming we actually have) but I don't know the reasons.
Ithink would be good to know but I understand we can't always know the details straight away.
Egg's reasoning looks sound to me though. I'd assume that was a factor.

| Once the Fev offer had been made we could no longer argue that we are being forced out of the district. A move to Dewsbury makes no sense now. Spending money on upgrading a ground we do not own is even morea pointless than spending on BV. We need to negotiate terms with Fev then concentrate on persuading the current fan base to follow us. I cannot see how sharing long term with Fev would get us thrown out of St. Lots of teams share grounds they don't own eg Hull and Wigan.

Hull and Wigan do not share grounds with another rugby league team.

| Ruling out Fev at this stage is nonsense. Mr Carter needs to start consulting with fans about alternatives. I accept that without Mr Carter we wouldn't have a club to support but he needs to realise he maybe the owner but he is the custodian of Trinity heritage and without the supporters his club is worthless.

How do we know it's nonsense, we aren't privvy to all the details.
To be fair to the guy he has put the money in so he can make these decisions, he can't consult supporters about
everything. It's frustrating but we have to trust MC.

| Mr Carter is a very successful, shrewd businessman who has saved this club from extinction and I believe he will continue to do so.
He is playing a game of chess at the moment and yes, the stakes are high, but he has no alternative IMO.
Whatever decision he ultimately makes will be for the benefit of Wakefield Trinity....have faith !!

| He doesn't consult about anything, Look at the decesion to change kick off time after years of it being 3.30! No explanation. No reasons. Supporters also put money in to this club and often its a large part of their disposable income.
