Tim Smith is key to us next year. With our big pack and hopefully another addition Tim can make things happen. When forwards go forward Tim is very dangerous. Hes happy at Wakefield; Wakefield are a far better team with him. MR Carter is good friends with Koukash after the ice bucket challenge im sure Mr Koukash could loan him for a full season and they pay all his wages again? Koukash likes Wakefield Smith could be a christmas present from them to us ?
If the game isn't that bent Salford will need Smith off the wage bill.

I'd go for a season long loan of Ryan Hampshire from Wigan.
He's a Wakefield lad who's found himself behind Matty Bowen for another year, he can cover Fullback (which we need) and he can cover a half back spot (which we need).

A full year of Super League would probably be exactly what he needs at this stage and I'm sure it would be seen as being beneficial to Wigan also.

Hampshire would be a fantastic loan signing, not sure if anybody knows yet how loan signings etc are going to work next season.

Godinet will be 27 in a couple of months, and has been around years.

Ok, Didn't realise he was that old so maybe a bad choice, but a young gun in terms of something to prove and full of energy.
I don't think i'd like to partner a real youngster with Godinet for the whole season at half back.

I would with Smith because he will take the lead and the young (ish) gun can just do his thing.

I doubt there is any player currently in Super League who deserves to share that moniker. Maybe Jamie Peacock comes closest.

I'm not saying Turner was the best player ever but I am saying that to many the name Rocky brings him to mind instantly. His physique, temperament and playing style earned him that moniker. Maybe you young'uns think his name came from having an "R" in the word Turner.

Bit off subject but Turner wasn't called Rocky because he was big. He wasn't the biggest even in his day but certainly not by today's standards.
He was called rocky because he was hard, and I dare say harder than anyone playing the game now. That you can compare.

Hard is one word for it, with due respect to his amazing c.v. nowadays he would be punished by the camera angles and suspended regularly.
Crash tackles I think they called them. Different game then, little comparison to now, cream would rise though.
Back on topic, what is happening with Tim Smith?

This thing originally got my goat a few years back when there was a little half back for Warrington called Rob Turner. Somehow some people referred to him as Rocky too. It's probably only a Rugby League thing and more so a Wakefield thing where that nickname is synonymous with a single player.
Imagine Iron Mike Korkidas, Hurricane Collis or Chariots O'Lynn.

A few weeks ago Ray Warren referred to Aidan Guerra as "The Wild Bull of the Pampas" which irked me at the time because that's a nickname unique to Vince Karalius.

Might be but once bitten twice shy may have already made Tim's mind up on which team he joins next year.

I wonder if that's the downside when young lads go to a big club? He's unquestionably a rare talent but at this stage in his career, he surely needs to be playing regular SL? When P&R returns and the ability to coast through the regular season is diminished, young players in similar situations will surely be behind their senior counterparts - in this case, Matt Bowen.

With regard to Tim Smith - I have a feeling that the sticking point is to do with his severance deal from Salford; he was at the beginning of a lengthy contract I believe, so if they want him off the books for cap/quota reasons, he'll be due some compensation.

The local press have resurrected the Kirmond thing again with regards to Smith.
