| What I still don't understand is how they've been allowed to keep haemorraging (sp?) costs to keep a full salary cap squad together. They could quite easily have shed some players and reduced the wage bill, even 10% of their playing bill would save them £250K a year.
Surely the RFL/SL cannot now refuse to sell players if bids come in??

| This is a disgrace.
Never has there been a greater conflict of interests.
Did they turn down the other bids so that they could buy the club?
Are they likely to send the club to the Championship if they own the club.
Can't believe the other clubs agreed to this.
There should be an investigation.... (by RFL/SLE no doubt!)

How must Fev & Fax feel?

SLE Have bought the club to get it through to the end of the season then try sell it. Makes sense rather than advance payments which will end up going towards the administrator rather than putting the business in a better position for a sale, and also allows potential buyers to do a proper investigation into what they are buying rather than rushing into things. You also have the lease and business being run by companies who can use that to their advantage when selling, rather than the conflict between administrator and lease holder.
I'd put money down that SLE will not be running the Bulls at the start of the 2013 season.

Equally, I just cant see how the Bulls can continue in Super League next season after this level of intervention.
What happens if the Bulls make the play offs and then lose narrowly to one of the big boys, especially if there happens to be a dodgy v/r decision, or even beats one of the big boys with a poor decision.
There will be absolute uproar

This should make the transfer of Sykes a little more simpler then.

Cutting you nose off a little there? Besides you’ll probably get both for under £200 anyway.

| Bit of an over-reaction in my view, but we all make our choices.
I can understand choosing not to go to Odsal until the situation is resolved (which it probably will be before I have to make that decision) but I don't understand abandoning your own team because of the desperate actions of the governing body.

| I also feel disgusted with the blatant bias the RFL show towards the "Bigger" clubs
The whole set up is corrupt
Talk about lions led by donkeys
Well done Richard Lewis for abandoning this set of clowns
Perhaps you had an idea trouble lay ahead in the way a failing club was being protected

| The RFL had to bring this sorry affair to an end, unfortunately, that’s not what they’ve done.
The saga will now continue to rumble on for a few more months.
A very embarrassing fiasco, made all the worse with Nigel Wood wobbling out, to paper over the cracks.
Looks like he’s been on the Dave Solomona diet .

Totally agree with your sentiment, I feel the same way and feel the same way about the RFL. I only support my Club, I will not go to any England games, RL Challenge Cup games not involing my team etc. etc.
But I will continue to support the Club I've loved for almost 50 years and will continue to do so and those at Red hall aren't going to stop me whatever they do.
It's infuriating I agree but don't give up on something you've loved for 37 years just because of this, you must have too much history just to let it go.

| This deal, however unpalatable is starting to look like a deal to the end of the season, followed by almost certain "relegation" and on this basis it allows the completion of the seasons fixture list.
There may be some interesting decisions ahead, if the Bulls make the top 8, aside from that we should let them go quietly.
It is an astonishing decision by our governing body and it seems incomprehensible that this would occur in any other sport but, it certainly isnt going to stop me watching Wakefield Trinity, not now, not ever !
Together we are stronger !

| my guess is this;
- players being made free agents on tuesday (from end of season)
- fulfil fixtures
- start in champ next year (may or may not be replaced in 2013/2014)
return as the promised "one club to be promoted from championship in 2015

I agree - in the past couple of hours, they've revealed the extent of the Bulls debts (£1.5 million) and said that all the players will be free to talk to other clubs when the deal is ratified. Looks to me like they're preparing to let them start again in a lower league, ready for another run at SL from 2015 onwards.
The RFL should never have let themselves get embroiled in this ridiculous situation, but if you were feeling charitable, you might consider that they're making the best of a bad situation; getting rid of the shonky consortia, seeing off Mr Guilfoyle and propping the Bulls up on a temporary basis so they can see out the season.
Going forward, I would hope for several things, not least that they learn to exercise proper scrutiny of club finances during the licence process and, when they discover that all is not well, that they avoid attempting to dupe the RL community with lies and double-talk as a way of preserving the pretense of how wonderful they are; as much as we felt badly done to at the time, the RFL's total lack of interest in our plight has turned out to be the best thing that could have happened to us - perhaps they should cut loose every club that gets into difficulty, regardless of who they are?
I'd also suggest that Big Nige has once again failed to cover himself in glory - the most significant and meaningful thing the RFL could do is have a massive clear-out and get some people in with the vision, drive and acumen to take the sport forward, from grassroots right up to SL.

have you got your period dear?
deary me, get a grip.
the truth will come out in the end, at the moment we have rumour upon speculation and some outright myths doing the rounds.
i don't want to see bradford finished for good, i don't want to see the rfl get stiffed even further financially than they appear to have already as that hurts the sport even more, and i want the season to finish with the same number of teams that started it. if you love the wider game as you claim, then good on you. i know i do.
i bet the rfl promote rovers/fax, and hope they can't make a go of it, then bang bradford back up in 2015.

As usual Bere, very eloquently put and I agree totally with what you are saying.
For me, it is now time to revert to promotion/ relegation, even if this means minimum standards being set for teams seeking to progress.
The teams who are "qualified" should be known from the outset or when they are known to be "ready" for promotion and from SL ANY team who finishes bottom should go, regardless of their perceived value to the competition.
Now is the time for some clarity and transparency within the sport and lets do away with trying to contrive a "super" league
At this point in time, most RL fans are embarrassed by the Bulls fiasco, some are disaffected by the lack of genuine promotion and who knows what the wider sporting public think of our game.

| i can understand the reason why the rfl want bradford to fulfill their fixtures for this season (protect the integrity of the competition etc.) however the next stage is/ will be the intersting one..
if they do "relegate" the bulls, the team they bring in will not be ready for superleague, neither by the playing staff or the background/support services required.
although nice for the fans to be promoted, it would be unfair for a club to be promoted without been allowed the time to plan. Widnes are an example - they had time to plan, and it has taken them most of the season to get up to speed.
also as if muted, how can bradford bulls newco be promoted back into superleague without the necessary "history" and success required on the field?
and, for the next round of franchises (assuming the current criteria stand), will the superleague reduce the number of teams by getting rid of the ones that are not financially stable (assuming they actually look at the books)?
