| If theres no fans why dont they do like the nrl with cardboard cutouts and split the money between the clubs or use advertising over the seats and again split the revenue anything for extra funding would help most clubs without sugar daddies for support

I presume its to do with broadcasting facilities at the Soccer grounds being up to scratch on a permanent basis.

| Seriously, if behind closed doors I cannot see why games are not simply played at the proper home venues. Why is BV or eg. Wheldon Rd less Covid safe than Shuds, Headingley or the AJ Bellend Stadium?

Possibly it’s just more convenient/safer/less cost involved, to have the broadcasting teams at just one venue. I believe the RFL are inspecting venues to ensure they have sufficient changing room facilities for all six teams on the day, plus match officials, and said facilities can be disinfected before the next teams use them. Plus it’s a lot of oranges for BLM to cart around different venues. ![Very Happy icon_biggrin.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_biggrin.gif)

| Still no news regarding the catch up games. After the August 2nd games all teams will have played 7 games, except Leeds and Huddersfield 6 games played and Trinity Catalans will have only played 5 games. My question is “are Trinity and Catalans at a disadvantage, playing catch up, even if our catch up games are played during a CCup week if both teams have an early cup exit. Are the CC games to be played mid week?. This whole re setting of season’s fixtures, seems very haphazard to me.

Not sure if fixtures are continuing from original fixture list

Er, we played that one.....
Next one should be Toronto - which we were due to play at York.

| Just been having a look at other fans forums. Warrington have a link to their chairman’s announcement yesterday, that the club directors had recently put a seven figure sum into the club. Are they now in the position Wigan were under Maurice Lindsay. If as some have suggested, that some some SL clubs may have to have a number of part time players comes to pass, then SL will become dominated by 2/3 clubs even more than now. Warrington’s chairman’s has also asked the members to consider alternative proposals that will be put forward by the club, instead of taking a refund on their season ticket. If the HJ stadium is used as a neutral venue, then at least they will receive a payment, at least to cover the match day expenses. The

| At first glance it seems curious that Trinity aren't playing the first week as we have most games to make up, but perhaps a bit of common sense has broken out. I suspect the fixtures will only be released in dribs and drabs so that derby fixtures are played when crowds might be able to attend. As our games to be made up are home games, it would be unfair if we had to play these extra games at neutral venues so I'm sure our Chief exec will have fought our corner for the best chance to create some income from this disrupted season.

I hope our CEO has pointed out to the RFL, one glaring obvious problem with one of the proposed rule change for the remaining season. It’s been proposed to remove the golden point rule. Trinity have already fallen foul this season against Hull. After 80 minutes the score was level, therefore if golden point is scrapped now, I think Trinity should have a league point reinstated. We’ve played less than one third of this season, and as yet, no decision on promotion and relegation for this year, but would it be fair to relegate any team by one point, when the rules change part way into the season. If the rule is changed then, Any game ending in a draw after 80 minutes, then both teams come away with a point each, which could send another team down. I know some Championship teams are pushing for promotion to SL, and I think that’s fair, but possible relegation for a team because the rules have been changed part way though the season, is a big No from me.

But there's the rub.
If a club is benefitting financially from hosting games, that is unfair on the rest.
A payment to "cover costs" should not = a profit.
I am really struggling with the idea of relegation this year - unbalanced fixture lists, "home" games played away, mid season rule changes.
I do hope the clubs can find a way to promote a club though, followed by a double relegation the following season(?)
I can imagine the squeals of the Championship clubs now a) if there's no promotion b) if it's not them that are promoted - any agreement to keep promotion must come with an "accept the result" clause.
There are no perfect solutions here.

That is utterly ridiculous. How or why would you change the scoring system half way through a season? As you say, the table will now have to be adjusted
