Cheers Mutley, yes I'm sure we will be able to sort this. It's led to a lot of frustration, but I beleive there is a very simple solution to the problem.

On the topic of parking I used to park on the retail park by the cinema but they are clamping down (fines) on folk parking up and walking into town etc. I'm not sure if they are policing it sunday but I was stung for £60 at Valley Parade once at the nearby retail park.

Good to hear, great minds think alike. Lets be a flagship club when it comes to looking after disabled fans. Apart from it just being a good worthwhile thing to do, it must also look well on any SL application.

Unfortunately I have had to cancel my meeting with Davide, due to unforseen circumstances.

In lieu of this I have sent a proposal to Davide by email, which should resolve the issue once and for all.

I will let you know the club's response to this.

I think it is great that staff have given up their places for the disabled parking. I think that should be sent to the press as a very poistive view of the club admin now.
However that can't be the best long term option.

The staff have been doing that for years ... and before someone asks, yes the much villified Richardsons parked elsewhere on matchdays.

Something to note - the fines you get from a private parking company, such as the one that manages the retail park and cineworld car parks, are totally unenforceable and have no more validity than if I walked up to you in the street and handed you an invoice for £60.

Park there for as long as you like and when they send you a PCN (parking charge notice, so-called because it sounds a bit like the more official 'penalty charge notice' and has the same scary acronym; also, produced deliberately to look like a police PCN, with checkerboard pattern on top etc, for maximum intimidation effect) chuck it in the bin; they'll send you a few more, which you should also chuck in the bin. I absolutely, positively guarantee you that you won't hear from them beyond a few snotty letters.

I'd be interested to see something that could prove that.......not questioning your authority on this particularly but having been stung before I'd be interested to see how I could get away with it.
If they have a notice to charge for parking, and they clock you in and out of a private car park, surely they can take you to court for non payment?

It's based on the private parking company having to rely on contract law rather than statute, thus creating a fairly onerous set of legal requirements they have to satisfy before being able to enforce their charges.

All the details are rlhererl and I can verify from personal experience that it works.

Private parking companies rely on fear, intimidation and ignorance - fight the power!

Thanks for the heads up, hopefully when I do clothes shopping I can park up in Crown Point and walk to Leeds city centre still too!
