And happens to be Hull KR assistant coach and they seem to be tapping our players at present. Conspiracy theory??

| It's absolutely essential that we keep Amor and our props IMHO unless Wilkes wants too much £££ for a final year in Super League before he retires ( if he is up to it). It's a key position, off load dead wood not key players like Amor, that should be building your team around over next 2 years.
We need to keep our strong pack which will be needed along with signing a proven 6 and another winger (but with real pace that can tackle)if we are to improve next year. Tyson and Addy plus a Lee Gaskell would be good with Kay hopefully getting more of a look in next season with Sykes.
Any decent wingers looking for a club? Is Cowling quick enough to be put there?

You might be right. Just offering an alternative suggestion as to why he may have been there Sunday

I agree - there are a number of alternatives that could be employed to ensure that player movements are handled in a less underhanded way than the current model; agents have a built-in incentive to behave in such a way that their activities have an adverse effect on clubs - it's far from ideal.
I would also look at restricting the ability of SL clubs to poach young players from out of area - as a junior community club, we're subject to positively draconian rules and regulations around attracting and signing new players, whereas SL clubs appear to be able to act with impunity.

In my time watching Bradford I’ve seen the effects of this from both sides as poacher and poached! I do agree with you. It seems that agents can get away with some pretty sharp practice and it goes unpunished, meanwhile the clubs losing the player don’t get adequately reimbursed. I do wonder how you police agents though. For example the Kopczak episode would never have been revealed had the Mason case not gone to court. As far as I’m aware his agent has had no sanction for being part of that move.
On young players wasn’t there once a rule that SL clubs could only sign under 16s from their own service areas? Has that been changed? A problem I have with that is that some SL clubs do nothing for the amateur clubs in their area yet benefit from having all that player resource to draw upon. Other clubs might work very hard but have far fewer clubs to work with and suffer in comparison.
In the end it comes down to money, at Bradford we’ve lost many good young players recently that we’ve spent a lot on developing but it’s mainly been down to our lack of money and some poor decisions by those in charge at the club. Any rules being brought in shouldn’t be there to make allowances for poorly run clubs.

I wouldn't police agents at all - I'd just get rid of them in their current incarnation; as someone else suggested, have the movement of players handled by the RFL or better still, have the new players union represent their members during contract negotiations. Remove the incentive to tout players around in the first place and it will have a much less unsettling effect on the clubs who find, train and employ them.
As for juniors - I don't think that service area rule can still exist, based on the scholarships I know some lads have taken up this year. And don't get me started on the lack of support for junior clubs - when your own league appears to be working against you, it becomes clear you're on a hiding to nothing.

| Amor n cockayne signed for hullkr I'm told this morning, sad news if true, we should be getting rid of off the field staff before our team imo.

Cockayne I could believe. Amor, if he were to be offloaded, I would've thought Trinity would generate an auction rather than accepting the first offer. I think bigger clubs then HKR would be interested in a young SL proven prop about to come into his prime. That's why I find the Amor to KR hard to believe.

| Kyle Amor was bidded for by KR, doesn't mean he will go. Cockayne is pretty much a done deal according to 'Sir Richard Agar'

| Quote: sixtogo "The guy who was chief executive the last time we didn't pay the bills and went into administartion you mean? The one in charge of the day to day that has presided over a company with a clean slate being on the brink of going pop once more after just two and a half years?
I'll cut Glover some slack, he doesn't run the club day to day and is not a rugby man. Although as chairman and businessman he should have been stronger he has put his trust in people who, quite frankly, are incompetant in the roles they are in. He needs to act NOW or it will be too late. The club needs a CEO who knows how to manage a business, someone with experience and the relevent qualifications. Alongside him needs to be an experienced general manger and director of rugby to run the club and advise Glover and needed. They have at least employed a firm of accountants so we now have someone who knows what a balance sheet is but more has to be done.
So will Glover remove his mate? We'll see if he has got the bottle but failure to act will result in failure of the club. We cannot continue down the path we are. It's still just about salvagable, but the clock is ticking towards the witching hour rapidly.'"
Well, I think that if we do sell Cockayne and Amor we as fans should demand that Elston is removed as CEO as he appears to be one the most inept CEO in super league. It's a disgrace that we are in this position again and Elston should be held accountable but the buck stops with Glover.

| Must say it does seem rather 'immoral' to be cajoling fans to buy season tickets when people are so unsure as to what the squad will be like.
Smith T n L plus Ben n Amor not exactly fringe players.
Rumours need to be quashed now if they are false.

| Don't get it. Danny Kirmond, probably the hottest property in SL at the moment signs an extended contract, presumably as he feels we have a future but then we hear that Amor and Cockayne have signed for Hull KR, a Club who about this time last year were in danger of going into administration. Tim Smith is signing for Salford and Lee Smith is signing for Wigan/Castleford/Bradford (strike out who you wish). Plus there was the rumour that Washbrook was also Hull KR bound.
Doesn't add up to me. Perhaps the rumours are just that rumours but if true we are really in the brown stuff.
