| So, here we go again... yet another false dawn, another stadium that will not be built. Denby Dale Road, Thornes Park, now NewMarket. What confidence do we have that Belle Vue will be rebuilt / redeveloped / tarted up (delete as applicable).having said that, is this the reason Superbowl never re-opened after it was being re-furbished, assuming any development would need the land that it occupies, If, and its a bloody big if, Belle Vue is to be redeveloped the only vialble way i could see is knock it down move it 10 - 20 yards east and rebuild on all 4 sides. It could be great, but i fear the best we will get is some new benches 4 cans of paint and hope that Snowie can build a new stand in 12 weeks !

Indeed. I could hazard a few guesses but for legal reasons I won't

Can you imagine the bureaucracy involved in redeveloping belle vue? We'll be long gone, especially with baldy at the helm

and also buy back the Superbowl building and land, much bigger 'footprint'.
Buy back with Yorkcourt paying for all the land including BV. Car parking on the old power station site, to be used as a park and ride mid week with our 'training facilities next to (not on the car park, but you never know).??????
A few weeks ago MC in a post referred to something akin to ' What would you do with £5 m to redevelop BV and Snowie said he would undercut him! I thought at the time what a strange comment.

| I would've liked to seen a new stadium included in the whole City Fields development and the eastern relief road. The power station site has been earmarked for warehousing.

My first question is I hope you have not thrown the paint brushes away mate,And what sort of timescale can you give us for the redevelopment.

| No doubt we will be hearing more in the coming days weeks but if redeveloping Belle Vue is the quickest way to get us an up to date stadium, the club can then plan for than now rather than waiting years wondering if NM will ever happen.

| I've hung on hoping that some one else would ask the question as with a user name like mine i will probably get shot down. I have nothing but respect for TRB and the others and the amount of hours they have put in must have totalled thousands. It was said numerous times on here by more than TRB "that it was just a matter of getting all the ducks in line" what exactly did this mean ? How much were YCP paying towards the stadium and how much extra funding did sir Rodney have to find ? If yorkcourt were paying X amount of £s towards the new stadium will they still pay the same towards the re development of belle vue and would it still be a community stadium ? i seem to remember hearing at a meeting of fans with steve ferres when he wa at cas that a new main stand with changing rooms, bars, classrooms ect at wheldon road would cost £5million so if yorkcourt were putting in £9million that would leave plenty over for the rest of the re development.

| I guess we will have to wait and get the full facts (if we ever do) but at who's instigation is this, Is it Yorkcourt trying to save / make more money, is it WTWRLFC deciding that NM is not going to be as "beneficial" to them as first thought. Have the council promised something regards funding / planning (although we/ve been there before!). We would like answers, we don't have a god given right to them, but for once, just once, some honesty would be appreciated,

| Do we think this decision may have something to do with the removal of the football club. I like belle Vue and with the demise of the bowling alley that increases the development options further.
I am not sure of the legal implications to the property owners should we look to develop the west side of the ground. I know there was a stand in place before but would an attempt to build another allow the residents to object due to the loss of light etc.

| I wouldn't be surprised if the council have advised to go down this route and then refuse planning permission for redevelopment

| I know it's not that simple, but if there is going to be no stadium at newmarket then they should be made to halt all development immediately.
Whatever they do at belle vue will not provide the community with the facilities that were promised as part of the newmarket development.
Like others I don't want to hear about more pie in the sky stadium plans. For once let's just have the truth.

| I'd use the same criteria as with NM ie the stadium is to be built when 40% of the original site is sold/leased or whatever the original statement was. If they complain about timescales and planning permission, then I think the phrase would be 'tough you'd better get a move on then or else we stay at NM with the backing of the SS (secretary of State).'
I am sure that there is a legal phrase for all that, if not they can use it.
NM or BV redeveloped then the latter, but I can appreciate the frustration and anger etc of those more involved in the process so far than I.
Snowie, are you getting a lorry load of welding rods?, cos you start next week (have Bank Holiday off mate ).
For all you grammar experts, in that last sentence, can you put a comma and a ? together, it makes sense to me rather than the ? at the end or is it correct to split into 2 sentences, when it stops the flow? Please mark leniently.
