I liked Poore but he could be a liability at times. As money is an issue and the pack is thinning every month, there is an argument that we would do as well getting a couple of young hungry players, willing to make an impact for their careers, for the same money.

I've never seen him play, but players like Smith are maybe the way forward next year: players who have been good enough to be spotted by clubs and recruited but not quite made the grade and so are looking for a chance to prove themselves. A bit like Amor and Kirmond when they first came to Wakefield, and arguably Tim Smith and Lee Smith, who weren't getting first team berths. Cheap and hungry is what we need.

Expensive flop.

The penalties he gave away were pretty expensive. I'm not trying to justify anything, I have no axe to grind with either the previous or current regime so I don't have to twist everything to suit my jaundiced viewpoint.

You really are crap at this, I remember when we used to have decent trolls on here who at least strung it out for a good few months before they gave the game away.

There's one on the casforum, 'alf tupper' who everyone thought was a wakey fan, but the style of writing, divisive, know it all, fix nothing attitude is identical to this 'agent' chap and has caused me to re-asses. There is no way on earth this person is a wakey fan in my opinion.

That's fair enough pal, if you rate Poore more or less than me then nobody can argue. It's when people just use something like this it to promote an agenda it gets a bit boring.

If he can improve the penalty count he'll be even better there is no doubt but he makes very few errors, misses few tackles and bruises the defense. (Though I haven't checked the stats)
He also seems to be a good leader and popular with his team mates and stands up to be counted when other teams are trying to rough us up.

To play state of origin you must clearly have some talent,maybe it was just a rough freshman year in super league and next year he could destroy the league??? Plus he his a leader and an 'enforcer' that you will need next year if the squad is threadbare and littered with kids

And that's why I would like to keep him, he'll be a big asset to our squad.

You say trolls are not what they used to be but in this case I think he is a troll of old, reminds me of Mr Benson and would be surprised if it/she/he are not one and the same.

Mr Bensons problem with the club was anything and everything, no matter what he whined about there was nothing in his posts regarding solutions to said problems and continually declined to go into the club and chat with anyone about the problems. It is him or the one that used to call himself lester cat note not (leicester cat) he was a different clown.

I hope your right, I really do. I love a good prop forward, especially one that is in the mold that Poore should be - big , rough and tough. I agree that he must have something to get selected for SoO - but this alone doesn't mean he will necessarily do a job for us, as I offered Josh Perry up as an example earlier its not always that simple. I am a realist and appreciate that in an ideal world that we would keep Poore and give him plenty of time to bed in because he could be exceptional for us.


On the other hand, we are in dire straights cash wise and there is a very real possibility that some more of the family silver may have to be flogged off shortly - and if this is the case then Poore would be the one I was looking at before Kirmond, Aiton and also Collis. Poore is reported to be on a decent wedge, and I don't believe he justifies it if true - and given the fact we could potentially replace him with somebody of the caliber of Lovegrove on what would presumably be a cheaper contract then that would be fine with me.

Having said that if RL is on his way out of Rovers would suggest if true we would be pretty daft to accept him as a make weight.

In a season where points are likely to be at a premium losing our best goalkicker would be a blow.
