Naff off indeed. How many do you think they would get at Barnsley playing York City Knights. You would struggle to get 2500 at wakefield, so you wont get anywhere near that at Barnsley. Take it on the chin , you will have rebuild and hope you can come back stronger.

Wildcats wouldn't have to move to Barnsley, if they have to go down to the Championship. They should be able to keep some kind of following?

All I can say to the doom mongers from other clubs (and in ours too) is that while ever there is a Wakefield Trinity club, at whatever level they play, I will pay my money and go to which ever stadium to watch them.
I'd love a big sugar daddy to come in and take over, and put pressure on the rugby league to give us a license but in reality we are probably just hoping for someone to buy the club and keep it running.
Taking a hit on points for going into admin means nothing when there is no relegation for number of points earned in the league.
And last time we were in the lower league, I really enjoyed the rugby.

Since the decision on the stadium it has been a slow death and demoralising for a lot of people but signs of a resurection are looking promising.......but we'll see.

The only way any player could walk away and join another club,is if he didn't receive his monthly salary,so as long as they are paid,no problem,but the administrators,i presume,would accept any reasonable offer for players.Does anyone know who any of the new potential owners are?would Sir Rodney be in a position to lead a consortium?

surely you cannot be serious......even before this the clubs fate was decided. I for one am extremely sad and think it is completely unnessacary to remove any club from Super League as it serves no purpose and especially wakefield. unfortunately the bufoons at RFL have their own agenda and at least now richardson should go and take the rest of the clan with him. Hopefully a new owner will appear and run the club professionally and when all the above like the new stadium become a reality, and the club running as a profitable business, then I am sure the Wildcats will rise from the ashes and be back.
I would have thought even the die hard fans among you would surely realise that 2012 will be in the championship, and if they dont then they should really wake up and smell the coffee

When in administration the expectation is that a lot of Wakey's debt will be written off and the rest will be paid back to the goverment at 'X' pence in the pound. The debt doesn't disapear.....it just adds to the countries deficit......so a special thanks to the Management and Board of Directors at Wakey for further hitting the tax payer due to their incompetence!!!

As for the club and supporters, my deepest sympathies for your team being in this situation!! Make sure that you get fully involved with the club as it re-forms, and never ....never let the clowns at the top or the RFL allow this to happen again!!

I’m gutted for you all. As a Widnes fan, I know what it feels like for you at the moment. I know some of you think that this is sort of good news, because it will rid the club of a much despised owner, but this could well have serious short term issues which, if not handled properly, could lead to the loss of your Super League licence.

That would be disastrous for any Super League club. Once you are out it is so difficult (nigh on impossible) to get back in. Even with a great well-run club, you may find yourselves overlooked for lesser clubs, which have the RFL X factor – location!

I had hoped that you’d get the 500 shares sold and use the influence that would bring to oust the old regime and negotiate with possible new owners, thus leaving you ideally placed for a licence in 2012; no debt, no administration, a new owner and possibly playing out of Oakfield with your new stadium being built.

I know you could claim that the Celtic Crusaders went into administration, but we all know that it will not affect their bid the same way it could affect Wakefield’s. I think, no matter how wealthy your new owners are, this will probably cost the club its licence. I guess you’re just relieved that it’s all coming to a head and, as there seems to be wealthy owners looking to buy the club, there’s light at the end of the tunnel.

I’m not trolling our showing any sort of schadenfreude. It is always sad to see any RL club go down this way, especially one of the originals with all the history which goes with that. I wish you and your club well for the future, no matter what happens.

Well it is a sad day for u all.But why should u be alowed to keep nearly getting wound up then start again,Us widnes was punished for it,it cost us a franchise.What is different about u than us with no ground,When we have the ground the money and the youth,God our under 21s have just won there super league season when we are in the championship.I dont want us to take your spot id rather they expand like the nrl.But do u still think u are more deserving than widnes for a super league spot?

Whilst Wakey are now favourites for the axe, there are other clubs who could find themselves in peril. I'm not too sure there was any real need for this awful snipe at the fans of a club in this position. It also smack of desperation. I don’t know why, because the RFL have insisted that a Championship club will be promoted and the bids are now in.

We are not competing with Wakefield , we are competing with Halifax and Barrow. Wakey are competing with other SL clubs. So, this a totally stupid post and completely uncalled for.
