| As someone said, as a team, we defend in most games, more than we attack, so for me, out of the choices we've got, I'd keep Blaymire there, he's good under the high ball and safe in defense and his positional play is good . Murphy's had a pretty quite season so far, but I'd leave him where he is because he's a good in defense and hardly makes many mistakes or gives away penalties.

I don't want a slanging match either and everyone entitled to their opinions. Personally I feel that Blaymire has just about the safest hands going, and has had constantly for a few years now. Murphy is a fantastic player but can be very hit and miss and sometimes go missing completely.

| How anyone can question Blaymire's safety under the high ball is beyond me - I'll admit that he tends to amble back with kick returns and will volunteer to be tackled by the first man that gets to him, but he's safe as houses under the high ball and is positionally sound.

| When looking at HOW a player plays, you also need to consider the tactics he is TOLD to play. If a coach wants to play a certain manner, the player plays that way - even if he feels he can play better a different way.
It's not all as straight forward as it seems.

| Quote ="vastman"I said he is a better centre this season than Murphy not a better player
Keep Blaymire at F/B because at the moment he still offers plenty, play Murphy on the wing where he can steady that flank and where he will continue to learn.
Remember we are not talking forever here, just the next game.
Now as ever I will attempt to explain where you have it wrong - again.
I know Murphy had a very good game at Hull - so what - this is where fans like you get it so wrong. A player has a bad game and he's bad forever, another one has a great game and he's beyond reproach - it don't work like that. Apart from that one game Murph has had a distinctly ordinary season. Yes I appreciate his loyalty but in pure playing terms that is how it is.
As for Blaymire, how can a "steady" player "offer nothing" can you not spot the contradiction - when there is no place for steady players in RL we may as well call it a day.
Just think before you type, you never know....'"
Ordinary is harsh on Murphy hes been good this season I think hes a top fullback needs to support the man more. Blaymire as one thing murphy as thats just safe under the bomb. The guy is so slow he would make a slow player look quick. George gets out of position too easy on the wing but centre he looks very capable. Would keep him there. And murphy comes back drop blaymire.

| He's 6'5 and 18 stone, around 25 years old too so not over the hill.
Played 16 times in the NRL in 09, 21 times in 08 and 23 in 07 so he is not a lower league Aussie.

| That's a point, he only played 5 times in 10. He's without a club this year, whether that's down to having an agreement in place with us or not, not sure.

Or alternatively it could be becaue he isn't very good?
Potentially mediocre import for a quick fix - not what we need in my opinion. Have we not learnt the lessons from Leano/Winterstein/Tony/Smith etc?
Even last night Mat James looked very handy (even in a well beaten side) and a couple of the Leigh lads look the part - would be more interested in looking at one of those and trying to develop Gledhill more than reverting to type with this.

| think that was harsh on Leano did ok in his short spell. With a pre season behind him with us would have done well. Don't think we let him go because he was no good. More likely was a financial problem plus the predicament we were in that forced him away.
