At the same stage last year, we only had one more league win and had just had a 5 game losing streak. We went away to Crusaders, got a good win, and then the season got back to its usual pattern. Just thought I would add some perspective.

Yeah, we have been poor recently, but we have had the guts ripped out of a side that I thought had real promise at the start of the season. Not giving up just yet.

Exactly the guts have been ripped out and have not been replaced. We are also worse off on the flanks and at hooker. Cant see where the next win is coming from. We are turning out garbage week in week out, even when we were winning we weren't great apart from the first half v leeds we were just playing teams who were either a) crap or b) out of form / short on confidence.

We need to spend some money and get in some players who we can build a team around.

think the point is that we had spent money on players to build a team around, but they got banned, went home,left, or got injured, the fans base has dropped and we would appear therefore to have no money, we risked cooke, it failed, we are left with what we have now.

Dont want to join the moaners ive done my bit, and im leaving it, but the blind faith gang may wish to have a bit of a think too.

The next six games should define the rest of the season:
Quins home
Leeds away
Wigan home
Catalan away


Crusaders away
Hull KR home

As long as we beat the three around us (Quins, Crusaders and Hull KR), a play-off finish is back on the cards, particularly if we pick up one other result. I think, however, that if we slip up on one of those three games, that team will overtake us and we will not get back up there again. Crusaders and Quins are only going to get better. I'm not as sure about Rovers though.

I am annoyed at the constant changing at 9, latu has been our most effective player, he's on we score, he goes off before half time for 40mins then comes back on where down and not enough time to make an impact.

Dont sub him if you dont need too. I get the feeling all coaches feel obliged to have 2 hookers and use all 12 subs at any cost.

Not sure about Latu, agree he gives us some of our few "sparks", but his distribution is often woeful from AHB, putting us right on the back foot. 2 hookers is the way, but personally I would start with Davey and bring Latu on at 9 after 30 mins if Davey needs it straight swap and if not maybe get Latu on at 13.

Yes, it is a team he has assembled, however, I’m sure at the start of the season he never envisaged losing our go to player, a quality hooker and a barnstorming prop.

The Cooke gamble appears to have failed, but it’s not the first time he’s made a poor choice – Paul Reilly anyone!

I don’t think I have ever expended so much energy berating my own team on Friday.

Shocking ball retention, poor discipline and pathetic defensive structure. I’m sick of teams scoring in the left hand corner, with Blanch nowhere to be seen. He either has no trust in his teammate’s ability to tackle, or cannot grasp the concept of good wing play.

Whilst the pack can hold it’s own against any side, on Friday there didn’t appear to be the leg-pumping efforts they expelled against Leeds. The number of times Moore took the ball from a standing start was laughable.

With no playmaker on the horizon it looks like it’s down to B.J to take the mantle, let’s hope he can re-capture his early season form, and some.

Before the season started, looking at the squad, I thought we were in for a great season, but, due to circumstances beyond the clubs control its all gone pear-shaped, so I feel a little sorry for J.K.

to be honest whoever goes in to AHB it makes no odds, as he has no scrum half to pass to! its our second pass that sooooooooooo easy to defend becuase its too slow, hence defenders are quicker on backs, hence more mistakes etc etc

I agree with most of your post, but I think you're being over-generous with that statement; the circumstances we now find ourselves in - rudderless, directionless and lacking creative spark - were NOT beyond the clubs control. Only the loss of Newton was beyond their control.

So the Tronc debacle was the clubs fault?

Regarding D.B, well, it’s been done to death, but, we as supporters can only go on what we hear from those ‘allegedly’ in the know.

Not always down to Latu. Forwards need to be running onto the ball from deeper, not standing still almost in line with the play of the ball.

I guess we'll never know the full story about Tronc, but it strikes me as bizarre that we rolled over and released him from his contract so readily. Either we HAD to release him because we hadn't fulfilled his t&c's, or someone upstairs is very naive when it comes to contract negotiations. Surely we don't release a star signing simply because a big 'glamour' club announces that they 'have room for him?'

As for DB - I agree that the issue has been done to death, but that doesn't change the fact that it appears to have been a very poor bit of business that left us without our main playmaker and talisman; a bit of business that has never been properly explained, leaving a vacancy that hasn't been filled.

So, our three highest earning players have exited the club, to be replaced with a rag-tag collection of youngsters, has-beens and loaners whose combined wages are probably around half the combined wages of the players they're nominally replacing; as I've said before - good for the balance sheet, but really bad for the fans.

JK can only work with what he has! I don't think it would have helped matters that his main playmaker dropped out injured in the last 5 mins of the last training session before the game

All set plays would have been organised through Jeffries. Davey I believe is still injured.

Only point I would make, is that JD is not a hooker/AHB........but who else do you put there if Sam is at 7 and Leo is knackered at half time?

Kear has done his best with a average set of players. In my opinion he has worked miracles. Hes made a few strange decisions but its hardly his fault newton took drugs, Ted got rid of our best player, Ted thought Millard would be a better option than Atkins

and Tronc got homesick due to Ted putting him in a flat over looking potobello keys. Come on Kear is the best thing thats happened to us for years. With this new ground we shall be rejuvenated and Kear will still do a good job for us. Ludicrous people saying he should go!

Surely there is enough money in the pot to lure either Black (halifax) or Briggs (fev) to Trin. or im sure if you offered them a loan deal until the end of the season they both would jump at the chance to play SL?? Cos its srum half where the main problem is..

Offering them a deal is fine....if the clubs would allow it, which in absence of a nice fee, I doubt they would.
