Hull Wyke U12's beat Oulton Raiders 16-6 in a good tough game.



West Hull and Skirlaugh both won there games at that age too

Panthers 12s crashed out of the cup with a very dissapointing performance after starting so well and looking comfortable for the majority of the first half.



The game finished 26-22 and the panthers can have no complaints has the side which wanted it more got the result.

Rob is on about the panthers 12s in the u13s comp as the ones in the 12s play next week( don't ask )



I watched lock lane v east leeds 12s comp . Lane were missing a few to soccer and looked out of sorts. East leeds defense won them throu and credit them for it

Don't get me started half of our team will be shaving by the time we go to u13s for proper.its been a balls up from day 1 of this summer rugby!!

Stanley Rangers u15s crashed out of the cup to a very good West Hull side today,



At 0-4 nil down we just threw away chance after chance and even when we got over the line it was called held up, sore the decision as I was yards away and the correct side of that the player to see that it was clearly grounded.

West Hull was the best team on the day so we have only our selves to blame.



The game ended when they scored again with around two mins to go 0-8

Oulton Vikings went out 28-30 (not 12-40 as it says on the site) after leading 20-8 at half time and not getting the rub of the green in the 2nd half. Pleasing performance for large parts of the game, playing the better rugby of the 2 sides.

Did East Leeds win the tie at the first attempt or did it go to a replay? A parent from Isberg told me it went to a replay but i though games were settled by extra time and golden point.

Im sure we all know this is the 13s / old 12s being that the cock up meaning the under 12s division 2 champions from febuary 2012-present v the hate to say it but the team that was cast aside at the botom of divioson 1.



Is this surley not the final hammer blow . Many who have seen this side will no doubt pick out some named players and no doubt i will put money down now even at 13 they will go pro but as much as I love Stanley as a club I think its now time for this age group to make way for the far better team of Siddal, as 60-0 Wins do nothing for either team.



I wouldnt be surprised either if a change in coaching roles aswell makes a certain club stronger this year

Stanley only lost by 2 points didn't they? Hardly 'far better'. If the division were larger then it would create even competition and also a challenge to further develop. The teams who dominate aren't doing anything spectacular, they're sometimes physically looking 1 or 2 years older, and this can change very quickly.

Totally agree on that, 2 div's of 10 and 2 of 9 at u13's next year with just top 4 play off planned would be manageable, I think at all age groups they should be looking at a 4 division structure looking at the amount of clubs, there is no need for top 8 play offs (this isn't super league) top four would give some credence to the playoffs making a semi and finals days on consecutive weekends manageable

No need for any side to drop out of group 1 but let's bring at least 2 maybe even 4 teams up and then we will have a proper league,yes the to 2 from group 2 beat the bottom 2 from group 1 narrowly in a one off cup game its hardly evidence to cast aside two teams who for the majority have competed reasonably well but towards the end of season have probably lost a little confidence.



Has for the cup unless they meet the 13s final will be a repeat of last year and again it would be a cracking final.

Am I correct that the Hull teams are joining the YJL next season?

I don't think so the cost of travelling would be damaging to a lot of clubs and parents.

Hmm - not sure where I got that information from then; must have dreamt it!



Anyhow, great turnaround for us yesterday - 20 nil down with 18 mins to go and being caned by the official, we scored 22 unanswered points to nick the game; not sure where the lads dug that one up from, but it was probably the hardest they've played all season.



West Hull were a terrific bunch - probably the most respectful and dignified group of young players we've met all season; they even cleared up after themselves in the clubhouse after the food and presentations!

Definate game of two halves. The ref had a shocker and I think he needs a new watch as the first half was about 22 minutes. Some of his calls were a disgrace namely the third try for Hull where it was a obvious knock-on and even the Hull player stood up expecting a scrum only to be told to play on. After penalising Sandal for the entire first half I thought he would carry on like that for all the game but in the second half he went the otherway and started to penalise Hull to even it up.



This takes nothing away though from Sandal who really dug deep and took it to Hull and with ten minutes to go the Hull parents sort of knew that there was only going to be one winner.



I was stood with the Hull parents and the comments from Bren above are spot on.Even though it was a bitter pill to swallow both parents and players took defeat on the chin and as they said it's a learning curve for the lads and hopefully they will be stronger for it.

My first visit to Spartan HQ and made to feel more than welcome by a sound set of parents.
