Quote: M62 J30 TRINITY "The article states we will be happy with the new plans and it will fully redeveloped Belle Vue if done right this would be the preferred option for most Trin fans.'"

If only I could believe a word of it. Never mind 90% of the rest of RL will think we were hoodwinking them, make it 100%. As I said about NM..when my bum is in a bucket seat I'll believe it. When I see those stands at All New BV, I'll believe it. WT promises and plans are like apple pie crusts I'm afraid

Quote: charlie63wildcat "Forgive me for not knowing who you are or exactly what your involvement in WTRLFC and the council/ planning/ Newmarket affair is. I am aware you have some kind of involvement in what has been gpoing on I think. I don't partake in every postathlon that has occured on Newmarket over the years, partly because I never believed it would happen, a feeling that has it seems, proved to be depressingly correct.
All I will say is that the organisation that ought to have kept us up to date with what was going on, every little thing it was in a position to, with regular updates, should have been Wakefield Trinity. Even if it was just to say, no change, still here, still at it, next update such and such a date. Newmarket disappears off the club PR for months at a time. We get occasional news stories, lots of speculation on here, hints from those apparently in the know like yourself and then this. For those in the Wakefield area who are not 'in the know' and those who live at distance like me, all of this is frustrating and frankly at times, aggravating. I am not having a personal go at you. The club has again let its fans down by a total lack of communication and transparency. I would add the lack of political will to make this happen has been glaringly obvious from the word go. More balls have been hit into long grass than a village cricket match. More obstacles and stalling tactics have clearly been employed than a tough mudder challenge.
I would love to have even a grain of faith that Belle Vue will get 3 gleaming new stands and we all live happily ever after but I suspect the 2nd coming of Christ is more likely. Or Wally Lewis'"

No worries.

I am the spokesman for SWAG and am on the Stadium Trust headed by Sir Rodney.

There has been plenty on here, if you wanted it, but it is difficult to report every move as often the situation is delicate and requires tight lips - that can be more frustrating for us than you can imagine!

I won't blame anyone for losing faith, but we will not, as we still have a job to do!

I thought there was a water tight agreement in place which said the development could not be built without the stadium.

Quote: Sandal Cat "I know some will be happy at the thought of staying at Belle Vue and others disappointed at not going to Newmarket.

Some of us have been campaigning for a new stadium for quite a long time and have given up their time in an effort to make it happen.

I have not put as much time in as some like TRB and IA but I have spent many hours of my time on the project and gave evidence at the Public Inquiry and to be honest I'm totally peed off with the decision to remain at Belle Vue when we believed and were told that Newmarket would happen.

I'm sure more will come out in the next few weeks but we are where we are and we now have to see how Belle Vue is going to be redeveloped but don't lose sight of the fact that if it had not been for all the time and effort put in by the likes of TRB and IA we would not even be talking about redeveloping Belle Vue, we would have absolutely nothing.

I know many of us are brassed off and disappointed with this news, and I know no one has yet, but FFS don't turn on or blame the guys who have given their all to bring about a new stadium at Newmarket, they are as hacked off as some of you.'"

There we go again, no one is blaming IA or TRB, Is this some kind of attempt to deflect from the real issue!

We were supposed to be opening the new stadium in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016

Lots of platitudes were given about not to worry, things are progressing, we've had a meeting, there's some exciting stuff going on behind the scenes etc

Now it looks like we're getting shafted by all and sundry again and again we get platitudes!
It's time to bend Colin Mackey over the desk and force him to front up on his promises!

Thanks for your reply. The way the world works, I appreciate the meaning of the tight lipped comment. However, this should just not be like this. You would have to see how this might look to the rest of the world and people outside the circle of trust like me? Whataver has been said at planning meetings and published has been convoluted, confusing and looking suspiciously like it it is intended to stall and eventually stop somthing from happening, no matter how much work you and others have put in. The machinations are bewildering and the process whiffy. Maybe I'm wrong but the announcement of somthing you saw coming 3 1/2 years ago generally tends to re-enforce a belief. I wish you well in your job. I hope your efforts come to fruition. I hope my suspicions are wrong. I want as much as the next fan to have a Trinity ground, club and team to be proud of and to be sat cheering us on in, but today is another day of cringing embarrassment for an already humiliated club

What I don't get about the agreement to allow YCP to build and let a massive amount of warehousing space before even considering building the stadium is this.

At the time, TIME was very much an issue so why, when YCP who were in a weak position and were pleading for the opportunity to build warehousing first, didn't someone argue for the inclusion of a time scale clause in the contract.

For example:
York Court Properties will commence work on the Community Stadium YCP when they have built and occupied 60,000m2 of warehousing or 2yrs from the Secretary of States decision have elapsed, whichever happens first.

Again, the absence of such a time scale clause smacks of there never being any intention to build a stadium.

From a purely personal point of view I'm pleased if BV is to be developed, I was never convinced that NM would attract the crowds being so far out of the city.
My pleasure is dulled however because once again we will be the laughing stock of RL.
I feel sorry for all the guys who have/are putting so much effort into this and cannot help but think not all parties acted with sincerity.
I'm just too bored to ask about planning, design, timescale etc.
Never dull being a Trinity fan eh?

Might have been mentioned already. But can't see how we can upgrade belle view, as in is there enough surround space to fit in a 'proper' stand anywhere? parking will still be an issue. Can't see where the funds are gonna come from either.

Looks to me like we'll just have to carry on chasing that dragon that is a nice shiny new stadium icon_stupid.gif
