Tautai joined Cronulla as a winger then I watched him play for two seasons at nulla as a winger...then he went back to parra where Stewart began to convert him into an impact forward.... With no success!
For me he is a winger... End of!

I thought Tautai played well against Leeds on Boxing Day and he played prop then. It took 3/4 to tackle him on every occasion and he made yardage every time. He just makes the odd error that needs cutting out.
Our backs are not light weights either Luke Briscoe should be on the wing based on his performances IMHO and they've said he can be an effective second row!
www.therhinos.co.uk/news/22120.php#.Uvp-lH8gGSM
Collis is over 6 ft and is about 14 1/2 stone and is a class centre IMHO just needs to stay fit.
Mariano would have had the nod at centre from me if he was still around...
The other centre either Reece Lyne or Jimmy Kienhorst are both well over 6 foot and pushing 14 1/2 stone. Be interesting which one Agar goes for as Kienhorst hasn't played at all yet has he? Safest option may be Lyne who has bulked up, remember start of last season? He was very good until injury seemed to destroy confidence...
Peter Fox is also 6 foot and 14 1/2 stone and is good going forward but defensively can have brain farts under the high ball which Tim Smith may be keen to exploit.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Fox_ ... _born_1984)
I think we must match them up front in the pack and hope for creativity from our pivots so our big guys need to be in the middle from the word go.
Weather will be probably be poor on a heavy wet pitch so free flowing rugby it may not be? Hope the game hasn't come 2 weeks too early for our imports.
I'd also like to see Walshaw in the 17 as he seems to have bulked up and was very difficult to stop against Leeds on Boxing Day. He's 6 foot 5 tall and has to be pushing 17 stone surely? Him and Ryan out wide as second rows with a high ball on the Salford line on the last tackle will pose them problems.... ![IDEA a046.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//a046.gif)

That'd be a first - as much I admired Tim Smith in many ways, I never once saw him exploit anybody with a high ball; kicks in play are probably the weakest part of his game, second only to defence.

Really the stats and what I watched in the last 2 years states different...4th highest in the Super League for attacking kicks...128 last year and season before 141. I accept that this is quantity not quality and a good chunk may have been grubber kicks but if he was that crap at it as you say, RA would have told him to give it a miss and hand the responsibility over to Sykes.

Tim Smith is poor defensively and doesn't take the line on enough otherwise he'd be in the NRL playing for a top team.

I don't care how many he made - the point is that they were of poor quality; Smith is a classy player with ball in hands, but his kicking game is rubbish.

| Smith chipped a beautiful kick high into the corner for Greg Johnson to score in our friendly vs Warrington last week.

| He doesn't really have a long game but that is party because we gave that to Smith and Sykes, who do.
He has kicked a 40-20 before for us and his short game is good.
The problem is (though I may be biased in his favour as I do like him) is that the runners aren't as tuned in as he is.

| Smith has a good kicking game, especially his short game. Ok he might not be Danny Brough but not many are. But he is a more than good enough kicker of a rugby ball.

| I always referred Smith as "me laddo" when he was at wakey, dunno how I'l go on now! He's one of the worst defenders I've ever seen, but that being said he is special in attack.... I think "wakefield under the high ball", as an opposition supporter, aren't as bad as you're making out though.
I wonder what % of tries now come from kicks, I doubt wakefield would be higher than average - though admittedly that's cause your fringe defence was the targetted area last year

| Good luck for Sunday guys. As a Salford fan, I have a soft spot for Wakey so although I hope we win, I wish you the very best of luck for the rest of the season.

| Hi all, reckon Wakey are a stronger team than people giving them credit for, I actually think its a stronger team than last season and have a Gem in Godinet, he's an exciting player, a bit of a maverick, if he can hit the ground running and Wakeys 3/4s are awake then I can see an upset on Sunday, by the way Ryan is a beast of a player and defender

I agree, you wouldn't go throughout two full seasons allowing a crap kicker of a rugby ball to do so many attacking kicks in open play. His grubber kick against Cas in Magic Weekend at Manchester in May 2012 which led to a Fox score was also pretty good.
