| Quote: Tigerade "I honesetly think Cas Tigers are a good club for someone who wants to buy into RL. When you look at Salford's recent buy-out and compare the 2 clubs Cas have a better fan base, better junior set-up and own there own ground. Our only problem (and it is a BIG problem - granted) is getting Richard Wright, Jack Fulton and Brian Ashworth to sell-up.'"
I'm not sure that's the case.
For example, you do own a ground but it's a 5h1thole, and bringing it up to standard will cost millions; until that time, much like BV, it's a millstone that will a) limit the club's ability to increase revenues and b) represent a constant drain on resouces in terms of upkeep - again, much like BV.
The alternative is to sell up and build a new one, but the shortfall between the value of WR and the cost of a new stadium is many millions, so that's another blind alley.
Meanwhile, you've got at least 3 incumbents who appear to value their shareholdings at such an inflated price that potential investors would have to throw another huge pile of cash at the club just to get them out.
In purely business terms, Cas Tigers doesn't, at this moment, look like a particularly attractive proposition; any sensible benefactor would have to be looking at selling off WR and taking a tenancy at NM - that would be the only way to recoup some of the losses incurred by paying off the people who are currently holding the club to ransom.
I take no pleasure in saying any of that btw - it's a sorry state of affairs and one that I hope someone can unpick, before it's too late.

For a start someone who wants to 'buy' in RL would have too an high price to pay for the cas club as it stands.
Salford/Cas... Well you do own your ground in title I suppose, but the worrying thing is the amount of charges Jack Fulton has on it. Would there be anything left to own after jack fulton has been paid off ? Then if there is anything left what would it cost to get it up to standard. Your wooden stand must be getting condemned sometime soon I just don't see how you can carry on getting safety certificates for that.
Yes better fan base and junior set up, no argument there. However the potential of salford is huge where as cas is a small town with very little going for it by comparison.
When you weigh it all up you can see where Steve Ferres is comming from in his assesment of the state of the club .

I'd see how that pans out after the old BOD have been paid off if I were you. I don't know but I do know how things are if you know what I mean.

I'm hoping that enough of the vociferous North Korean residents object most loudly to any idea of moving even 1 motorway junction from Cas.
Sell WR, pay off current loans, get a super-cheap rent at a modern state-of-art stadium. Pocket the difference (-tax) to build a strong squad and spend up to the salary cap.
This would put them in a much better financial & playing squad situation than us and would be likely to attract further investment. You never know, with all that growth and profits, they may be able to return to the promised land at GH in the future.
This is quite clearly the way forward and I as soon as the first soil is turned on the NM stadium they should jump at the perfect opportunity to secure the top-flight future of their club. I wonder what proportion of Cas fans live closer to NM than Wakey fans?
but as i say Cas in Cas & No compromise, ask Kim Jong-Al(casfan)

| Wright and Ashworth are deffinately holding out for a big pay-off. As for Jack Fulton, I'm not so sure.
Regarding Cas Tigers "not looking like a particularly attractive proposition" - what differences has the club got to Wakey when Andy Glover certainly saw promise and potential ?

We might even attract some of your fans to watch this "better team". Now that would be interesting.

| The only way 2 clubs could share a stadium is if they shared the revenue streams provided by it. Half of ALL income would need to be distributed.
Although Cas may benefit short term from the sale of WR and moving to NM, the cash would soon run dry without the income streams required from their own facility - which is also a large part of the problem both our clubs face with the ageing stadia.
The move to a new facility is much much more than a nice place to watch sport in - it is the very lifeblood of the succesful existance of the clubs themselves.
I just don't see this happening.

Andrew Glover bought the Club from the Administrator which is a totally different proposition from buying it from the owner at the time.
You have said that Wright & Ashworth are holding out for a big pay-off - thats your difference and the stumbling block.

Except that Jack Fulton is now rumoured to hold charges over WR in excess of £3million, so once he's been paid off, together with Dicky Wright, the other fella *and* any other smaller shareholders, the coffers already start to look a bit light.
As for the Glover comparison - he bought WTW for peanuts, so it doesn't really compare; incidentally, that's the only way I can see someone taking Cas on right now but it won't happen - if they go into admin, the ground will be sold and Jack Fulton will be second in line for his loans repaid, right behind HMRC, who *always* go to the front of the queue. So they end up homeless *and* skint.
They're in a right pickle and letting Steve Ferres advertise that fact probably hasn't done them any favours; anyone thinking of getting involved will now see them as 'in distress' and will be hunting a bargain.
