If they can do that to Hull FC away I can't imagine what they will do to us at their place!

A repeat of last season, right now I'd take that as it would mean we at least scored.

Right now they are the opposite of us in that they look full of attacking threat and ideas. As a club they are not that far away from us in terms of revenue, crowds but they are light years ahead of us on the field. Some say they don't pay the bills and the take-over of the ground by the council could be an issue, but no one can argue they are doing great things on the pitch right now.

It's strange that, even in the last season of John Kear at BV, when we had a squad that cost just over £100 and we were getting beaten every week, we still managed to score some points.
Despite the massive progress with the ground, which looked like it would never happen, the feeling of despair is bloody awful.

I was quite worried pre-season with who left and who we brought in, but I don't think this is the worst squad we've had. James Webster had much less to work with and suffered loads of injuries. Looking at the first 7 or 8 games, with a rookie coach, I couldn't see us winning more than 1 or 2, which now looks a long way off!! I suppose with public enemy No.1 out of the way let's see if the attack improves, but confidence must be rock bottom. If Smith & Lino don't click, and we don't at least start to trouble teams, we have to look at bringing a stand-off in, or just hope and pray Cas keep struggling! Could be both winless when we play them over Easter.......

Exactly right. Their recruitment has been excellent, with I believe a similar spend to us, and certainly nothing like the top teams. They had a team ripped apart, losing Hastings, Dudson, Lussick, Evalds, Lui, etc, and they have re-built in a short space of time. How we could have done with say signing, Sneyd, Ackers, Dupree, instead of Gaskell, Hood & Butler.

It may well be true that Salford have the same player salary spend as us, but looking at some of their players mentioned in previous posts I reckon they must have a financial wizard working for them.Sneyd is,and always has been, a top player,Dupree,I think, was mentioned as a future star not long since,and Brodie Croft,Man of Steel and recently signed on a 7 year deal, won't have come cheap.Either way they have put together a very talented team.

A bug difference between salford spend and ours is we spend around 300k a year on youth they dont spend a penny,theres ya ackers and croft monies there

That's a very fair point, but it wont go against them when grading comes around.

I may be wrong but within the performance category im sure it mentions academy performance too,as i say i may be wrong and if i am its shocking from img they dont include youth development

No mention of any academy or youth development in the criteria. All based on first team league performance with potential small bonuses for cup wins.
