| I said this would happen right from the start with his appointment and was shot down in flames. Agar's should never have been appointed and enough fans made that clear from the start. Glover then announced the new coach stood head and shoulders above the rest !! where he came up with this description god only knows, (probably what Elston told him) as there were 18 applicants including Noble !! I am afraid that giving him a 3 year contract is another almighty balls up by Elston, and that will mean either having to pay him off a big chunk of cash, or putting up with him for the whole 3 year term, and i think the latter is more likely as the cash it would cost just isnt available. Agar had nowhere to go after Hull and he was not in a position to be insisting on 3 years, but the club rolled over and gave it to him. A decision that will cost them dearly either way.
As for his recruitment first 3 aussies (Smith,John & Southern) between all of them last season played only 7 NRL games, then 3 players deemed not good enough for Giants, and then brings in Sykes a Full Back/Centre when we are crying out for a big nasty front rower because he obviously believes we have ample firepower in the forwards. The bloke has no idea he really doesnt and if the powers that be cannot see that then its really not funny.

| But if no front rowers are available what is he to do? Raleigh is a 2nd row but has been asked to step up as no one was available. I think the 3 ex giant players have all done well since they came but I'd like to see more of Kyle wood as he tries to create things. We were hit badly by kirmond pulling up the day before and Ali pulling up during the game. It kind of shows we lack depth when 1st choice players go down

| Yes im an Hull FC fan and i havent come on to say we told you so.Its not that, its just we wanted to warn you what you were getting. We know first hand, no imagination, same play week inweek out, no drive and the too many years he was with us we achieved nothing. Now Peter Gentle gets appointed and a few games in in his first season and were second in the league. That must speak for itself, at last we have hope, we may not stay ther but even if we end up in the first six its more than we would ever have achieved under Agar.I sincerely hope Agar does come good for you but in all honesty i just cant see it.

| But agar did get you to a grand final and CC final didn't he? I expect he was the best thing since sliced bread when that happened. Anyway you told us but we did it anyway. None of your concern any more

I came on here with with no malice or sarcistic comments and if thats how you react you deserve him. HOPE YOU ENJOY YOUR WOODEN SPOON COS ITS THE ONLY THING YOU WILL GET.

No he didn't. Poetic licence in your club's spiel about his appointment. He was at the club, but Peter Sharp was the head coach. We never won a single playoff game under Agar, never mind making a grand final. In fact our grand total of wins against SL opposition in knockout rugby under him was the quarter final at Bradford and the semi against you, both in his first season. We then went 0 from 6.

Peter sharp was head coach, and as for the Challenge cup hull played championship opposition right through to semi final when they beat us. This was the year they played Thackray who had already played for another team in the comp.

| Quote: Khlav Kalash "The team, to me at least, seemed to be progressing nicely during the early stages of the season. Yes there were mistakes and errors but it was possible to see the team improve each week, culminating with the victory over Catalans.
However since then the team has taken a huge step backwards, so much so they look less of a team now than what they did on the opening night of the season.
So what do you think is the reason for this. Player burn out with little squad rotation, a lack of effective props, has Agar lost the dressing room, or has the players attitude changed because they beat the Dragons and stopped putting the hard work in?'"
We won 5 on the bounce one year at the start of the season then finished 11 if my memory serves me correctly. I am not particularly anti Agar however his game plans (or lack of them) and particularly his interchanges really did baffle me, this has only being highlighted by Gentle, who actually gives youth a chance (never done under Agar) and more importantly his interchanges are spot on, he has particularly developed 2 player Sharpe & Turner who never really progressed under Agar both had some big defensive issues, they honestly look like new players. I never really realized how bad Agar was until we got Gentle I just buried my head in the sand and hoped for the best because I love my team. Hope you do alright though as I have always enjoyed coming to Wakey.

| WHATS HAPPENED, quite simple aint good enough. Wakey over the years would have lost the first game of the season at Widnes. With a very average team it looked like progress had been made, then London last week and last nights game. We have very average players, and alll would have to be at the top of game to win, chances of winning 3 on trott zilch.
Agar can only pick what hes got, the players have let him down .
I think we were very keen to get rid of JK at the end of last season. I know plenty of you played hell about the team and JK last season, but look what he had to work with. JK shoiuld have been offered a 1 year deal and given some money to spend.
The present flock of players offer very little, and if you could pick a team from the last 4 years squad i doubt any of the present players woiulf feature.
Changes will be made on Monday, because they have to be. I dont think agar can be blamed 100% , but he now must loose faith with a couple and give a new look to the team.

| The problem is, not just that our performance has fallen away since the Catalan win, but that the 2 subsequent defeats have been against poor opposition.
Lonodon nilled us and then were comfortably beaten by Catalan and with respect to Cas, although they certainly deserved their win last night, they are not exactly a top team.
We are playing Wigan on Monday and the Rhinos on Friday and after that we will have the rest of the season trying to avoid the wooden spoon.
It is depressing

I'm not sure I completely agree with this. R.A. has not rotated the squad enough in my opinion and is now paying the price. He thought he'd give them a chance to turn it around and its backfired and shown a weakness to change things asap and keep players on their toes.
Also sorry for the repetition (as a large number of others have said it) but I do not think Southern is super league quality and hasn't a cat in hells chance of getting into the Exiles squad. R.A. will stick with him though as he's made him the captain and will not want to acknowledge his mistake, its also an expensive one if he's on a 2/3 year contract playing in the reserves.
On paper we have proven super league quality players -(Lauititi,Amor,Ellis,Aiton,Smith,Mathers,Fox,Cockayne,Wilkes,Kirmond,Raleigh,Washbrook) which I think is a better squad than last year (which only had 18 full time players at one time) although he gets rid of a prop such as Korki which was madness?! He should have put him on a 1 year deal instead of converting 2nd rows like Johnson/Southern who don't have the raw aggression/size to bust tackles from 18 stone opposition.
R.A. has gone too far down the road of 'the team needs to get to know each other route' and when the cracks began appearing against Bradford he should have brought youth into play asap(James,Mariano,Trout,Walshaw,Wildie) like Millward has done at Cas and rested those whose performances were becoming inconsistent in the pack (& possibly elsewhere although the pack has become championship material on form now).
There are players such as Ellis, James, Mariano, Walshaw,Trout and Wildie that have barely got a game yet & should have 2/3 under their belts by now! Does R.A. really need someone like Noble to come in on a consultancy basis?
Collis when eventually fit, looks as though he will be an asset & since he's been injured WTW have imploded.

| Like many of us fans I don't know exactly what has gone wrong but can only speculate on what we see on the field. For me there is no team spirit there on the field, the players just don't seem to giving their all and performing as we know they have the potential to do.
I like many, never wanted Agar, in fact strongly opposed. It is not my decision and I've been open to giving him a fair crack of the whip so I can eat humble pie. These last two matches I really thought would be the closest to bankers we could have to accumulate some points. As it turns out they are two of our heaviest defeats so far and inept performance.
Compared to last year's season with a make shift, pick of what is left team we managed to beat Catalans away, Hull away, Cas away and Hull KR at home. That is better than what this current squad has achieved and this year's team on paper have a lot more potential IMHO.
Performances early on were encouraging but didn't get the results. The future is looking bleak in the short term and I'm not sure where we go with the current status quo. Either Agar needs to bring back team spirit and create a team to grind out results (irrespective of the opposition) or Glover needs to retain the good faith he has held with the fans over the last 14 months and make a decision in the interests of the club.
