| Can't say there is anyone I am disappointed with yet, too early. Seen signs from all of them. Have a good feeling about how we will develop

| Perhaps the title of the thread was a bit harsh, but I don't get all these people being so touchy about a bunch of fans having opinions on players?
The coaching staff are constantly making judgements - Matt James has been judged as 'not required' at this stage (doesn't mean he won't come back); Ellis has been judged as not right for the squad. IMO Mellars has not done enough to retain his place and I would put Kirmond in the centre to allow other options in the pack / halves - so yes, of the players we have signed, based on the limited game time we have had, Mellars needs to 'up' his game.
I also feel that Aiton has not yet been used correctly. His best play has been when released to second row / loose forward IMO and this has coincided with Wood being able to come into the side.
Of course it will take time to see the best of all the players - they have yet to figure each other out (hence the number of missed passes) - but it's human nature to make judgements - it all starts as soon as we see another human being!
Chill people!

Disagree about Aiton he has been quality at the ruck in the main for me, keep him at 9 and if he's fresh enough continue to move him when Wood comes on. Kirmond should stay where he has been so effective rather than shoving him into centre to make up for someone else's perceived failings. If Mellars is not on his game get Walshaw in there. And you've certainly changed your tune, this thread 2 years ago would have seen you getting stuck right in to the OP! I do agree thought that the title gave the wrong tone from the start

Don't agree over Aiton! But the rest is fair enough - yes the thread was worded badly by someone with a certain reputation should we say. Also it was rather a tongue in cheek response to the thread regarding the best player so far.
However personally it's to soon to really judge either way.

It's a fair cop. I feel slightly liberated that I can speak my true feelings and not be conscious of any connections with the club!
Your suggestions are fair, but I think Walshaw is more of a second row than Kirmond.

You may be right about Walshaw time will tell. Hope he plays this aft. But do you not think that it would be unwise to move Kirmond who has been playing very well?
Hope this weather continues perfect for RL

I think it's an option, which possibly allows the pack to be re-jigged and for Ellis or Wildie to come in and double up with Wood at Hooker. On it's own it is probably best to stick as-is for now.

Another 2 crucial penalties today on half way. Both gave Shudds possession in our 20 and a try from the set of six. I rest my case.

| If you play longer and do more tackling you have more opportunity for penalties. I know he was miffed with himself as both came when he was due to come off. Kirmond gave away at least 3 penalties that I can remember 2 of those in giants 20 when we had the pressure on. For me that's worse than 2 on half way. Wilkes again gave 2 away that I can remember yet again you don't pick this up. Andy had s good game yesterday, even singled out by Paul Anderson as the best forward on the pitch. What's your agenda with Raleigh?
