| Quote: Fordy "The fact that this fixture is played for the Adam Watene memorial trophy is enough for me, no matter where either club sits in the league at the point in time that it is played.
I guess we don't actually now have anyone left who played with Adam so to the players it might not mean as much but for me it is always a chance to remember the big man. RIP Adam.'"
Olly Wilkes and Peter Fox will have been here first time round with Adam wouldn't they?

| Quote: Shifty Cat "I wouldn't say Poore is past his best at all, he's sill only 28. He had a bad injury that knocked him off his game for quite a while but past it is not right.
As for Smith not making it, good because then we wouldn't have the privileged of watching him play here.
We've also got Aiton & Collis who imo are both class.
Also if you can't be bothered 'which of our teams are the least poor on one given afternoon' I'd knock it on the head mate, can't get my head around that.'"
consider it firmly knocked
right, so Poore is still of Origin quality is he? Don't make me giggle. He is here because he couldn't stay fit - he's only playing 40 mintues per game for you guys.
to say watching a man wh can't tackle play is "a privelege" then for me that about sums up the standard. And we have the mercurial Rangi on show as well... *sigh* a man who runs across the line, runs back, runs across again, then drops it off to someone stood still
yes, this is a game that trully inspires me.
On a brighter note, Normanton play Eastmoor on Saturday!
If you want to see players playing for their town, rather than pretending to be great players mixing it with the big time.
As I say, I don't expect everyone to agree, but if this fixture is the highlight of your year then it's a real shame.

Ooh, you're a bitter man Dave!
Personally, I think you're under-playing the quality of some our foreign imports; none are perfect, but to focus on Smith's tackling for example, is to ignore the absolutely sublime passing game - when he plays well, I would still argue that he is the best passer of the ball in SL right now. I don't expect my HB to be a tackling machine!
Poore is still regaining match fitness and I think he'll hit his straps mid-season when he's got plenty of game time under his belt - we haven't seen the best of him yet granted, but even below par, he's one of the more difficult forwards in the game to handle.
As for your lot - I'd agree that Rangi is a frustrating player but he can also be one of the most entertaining; seems his head is wrong this season and that's brought out the worst in him. I also like Carney for you guys - he's a wrecking ball and very entertaining to watch.
If you'd picked out Mellars and Millington on the other hand, you might have had a point...

| I think, to get to the root cause of my frustration.... I don't think the product is worth £21.
Do you know it's about a tenner to go watch Paramatta?
we are playing over double the money for half the standard.... AND the club is peeing it down the drain - hence you guys went bust and we are heading down the same road - unless we accept we cannot relentlessly punch above our weight

| I guess that's an issue of volume? I'd imagine they get significantly more fans through the gates than CT or WTW?
I've got no stake in persuading you to attend or not Dave - if you've arrived at a point where you feel it's no longer value for money, there's not much that anyone can do, outside of the team going on a winning streak, that will persuade you otherwise.
You'll be back though

Book prices in Australia are nearly 4 times the price as over here for the same product. If you like to read then go read a book friday evening

| I hope I am Bren lad, I'm not saying otherwise. BUT... when I'm ready to come back, will the club still exist???
Yeah there was about 20k in the stadium that night, playing Newcastle I believe.
But if Cas and Wakey charged £10, I'm sure we would fill the stadiums.
My dad for example has just retired, he was watching cas from about 1965-1990 (around the time I was born) ....he comes with me about 2/3 times a year now and the reason for that is cause it's not worth £21.
i mean, Christ, my first match was in 1999 and it was £11 for adults. I tink it's pretty much gone up a quid a year since and it's disgusting considering the club has been so frivelous with the fans money

When you decide to go to a Parra game Dave, book me four places on your mini bus!

I can relate to that.
It's not just the gate price though either, the fuel needs to be taken into consideration too. If I was paying on the gate, then an average home game would cost about £35 (ticket, fuel, burger and a pint) and as the cost of living's going up all the time it needs to be justifiable, I need to know it was worth giving up £35 and missing four and a half hours with my little girl!
At this moment in time i'm thinking i'll not get a season ticket next year and i'll just pick a few games here and there instead.

I've said this before, but I happily avoid the additional expense that some people seem to view as compulsory - I take my flask and a bag of crisps for half time and if the Mrs has been busy in the kitchen, I may even get a muffin.
As for the time away from family - I view the expense of going to a game as a perfectly acceptable cost of getting away from them for an afternoon; I guess my kids are a bit older than yours though, so the novelty has well and truly worn off!
