| Quote ="rebelrobin"Here is a honest question, if say RFL decides from next season to revoke your membership to SL. What happens to the players and staff do their contracts come null and void like it did with us at Kr. I like Wakefield only for sentimental reasons, my dad who died 2013 was born there and after being a miner went on to help build bell vue, he always supported both wakey and Kr.. I have a feeling due to SL wanting 13 teams to include us, but don't want to lose money does anyone think you lot could become victims And lose your SL status being replaced by us just a thought'"
My worst case scenario suspicion is that someone has offered the club a fee to move to their city, so the club would remain solvent and in super league but it would play out of a different city. This would then mean that any new club who wants to play professional rugby in Wakefield would likely have to apply to join championship 1

When it comes to RL nothing would surprise you as they seem to make it up as they go along. However, I agree with DA that if we were to be demoted because of the ground I think that would be me done. Unfortunately it appears a dog eat dog environment so if our demise was to benefit others, I don't think many clubs wouldn't think twice about it

| If the RFL kick us out despite finishing fifth that's me done as well with rugby league. It's be farcical on another level. You don't see Burnley, Bournemouth and Everton facing such a threat depsite having grounds not fit for purpose.

In the context of the Etihad or the Emirates your right, but really the only thing wrong with the 3 clubs mentioned is their support is far greater than their ground capacity.

Minimum capacity is 8.5k. Think minimum seated capacity is 2k.

| A brief summary:
MC will visit the RFL tomorrow to explain the club's short and long term plans.
They will be seeking short term dispensation with no long term plan.
MC does not know what to expect from the meeting.
The club have not been approached about selling their licence.
A redevelopment of BV is absolutely off the table.
The only way forward is Newmarket.
The only way is for WMDC to borrow the money.

| Because we are in this situation due to inaction of the council they should be doing anything they can to help us, the MPs that thought it was a good idea to support us before the election, should encourage the council to do the right thing. If there was a will there would be a way. It's time Wakefield Council and MPs put together an action plan to keep the city's only professional sports club from going like rest of professional Sport in Wakefield

He also said the club will more than pay the interest on the capital borrowed by the council to get the stadium built

Carter has said that before and it is a very honourable gesture. The only question I have over that is how is the interest paid if the club is relegated in the future? Will profit be enough to cover the interest charges?

No idea but he doesn't strike me as a ted or glover type so I suspect he has done his sums and knows he can honour it

| yep, that's the state we're in right there
the trouble with it is the relationship between the developer and box, who is in effect Wakefield Council, RW seems more and more like a peripheral pain in the $r5e rather than an enabler.
YC and WC need splitting up, we can ask WC to borrow the money to get things rolling on the back of chasing YC for what they owe, but if there isn't the will to chase on the councils behalf, they will be looking at having to fund the whole thing themselves.

As he said during the interview: Leave him to worry about the stadium problem the rest of us just support the club and staff and enjoy the rugby.

And the plan would be build it then chase the developer for the money. Yeah good luck getting them to pay up. The chances are the council would end up 10 million quid out of pocket and they know it hence they won't go for it. And given most council tax payers in the district couldn't give a monkeys whether the stadium gets built or not then they won't want to be seen to be taking the high risk.

| I'm sure if Wakefield Council were owed money they would get it!! Especially if yorkcourt wanted to do business in Wakefield. The city's MPs could do more to encourage the council, they should be reminded that fans would remember it at the next election

It's pretty obvious that if they are 'forced' to shell out £10million for a stadium then they probably aren't bothered about doing business in Wakefield. I think you'll find they'd be quickly liqudated and a new company would turn up somewhere like Leeds.

If the council were so minded, surely their legal team could be a little more pro active and ensure that a company whom were part of the deal to turn green belt land into industrial land, wouldnt be allowed off the hook.
Although it's naive to think that all sorts of companies are very clever about finding loopholes to avoid their obligations, there was a huge chunk of land, re classified on the proviso that a community stadium awa "given" to the people of Wakefield.
If as it appears, they are not going to keep this commitment, what legal options do WMDC have.
I know this doesn't help us with tomorrows deadline but, they appear to be taking the mickey big time and a local authority should have the commercial where with all to enforce the required building work.
