| Quote: Spookisback "that he has gone on an immediate - full season loan, you may have something... one can only speculate! wonder if we are looking at someone like Jack Walker for a season?
Given Hunslet are part time, how does that work? will he still train with us during the day and then again as a part time trainer? Or is he just a Hunslet (part time) player for the whole season? does he come under our welfare and health care? If he is injured ... where does he do his rehab?
no issues... just interested'"
He’ll train with the full time squad at Wakefield and link up with Hunslet for their training too. His welfare will still rest at Trinity so his rehab should he need it will be at Wakefield Trinity with our facilities and our physios.
There will be a clause that allows us to bring him back if we feel his development and well being isn’t being taken care of at Hunslet.
Quote: Spookisback "Strange one this. Seems a bit of a backward step for the lad.'"
It’s not a backward step if he makes their first team and plays 20 to 30 League One games in one of his preferred positions.

| Yes Powell explained this last season.
The player trains with us except when they do their training sessions and game.
He'll still spend a lot of time at the club.

| Honestly thought he’d be one player to pull on the shirt on DR for Batley regularly.
If it’s a loan then I’d imagine Hunslet would be paying a good chunk of his salary and getting a good player.
I have a feeling that the club are working on a quality signing. Nothing other than a gut feeling though.
As mentioned above. If he plays 20/30 games at championship level then he will benefit I’m sure. It’s down to him and if he plays well he will get his shot at SL.

| To be honest I've never understood the practical difference between dual reg and loan agreements. Can anyone enlighten me? If he got sent to Batley would it purely be on game day? Is it about wages? Happy for Booth either way - he'll develop better playing regularly against Bradford and Toulouse et al than in our reserves. It does shed some light on Powell's preference next year though. If we hadn't signed Rourke I'm sure Booth would get more game time.
Without an injury crisis I don't see why we'd sign another player, apart from possibly a winger. In our squad we have 2 proven full backs, 4 centres, 3 wingers, 4 halves, 3 hookers 9 props, 9 backrowers (some of those are the same player, obviously).
I don't really buy into the idea that individual players are injury prone, but I do think positions are injury prone. Wingers take on a lot of physical load these days, so I do worry a bit about Walmsley and Johnstone. And is Tom Delaney ready should the time come?

If Tomm Delaney isn’t ready this season after a couple years full time then I’m not sure he ever will be. He’s another who would benefit from regular championship games. Problem is we do have a reserve team to run and keep competitive. Though I feel players on fringes would benefit more from Championship rugby than Reserves.

Duel Reg basically means a player is registered with 2 clubs so it’s simply much easier and quicker for them to play for (in our case Batley) their duel registered team. Players can play for duel reg team at very short notice without jumping through various admin procedures.
I agree re signings, at least I don’t think this will have any baring on anyone coming in potentially. He will be on a very low contract with us and Hunslet will only be picking up his match day payments I expect. Also there is no way we are currently spending at cap level so there would be no need to make room for another player.
This move in my opinion is all about developing a player and getting him regular game time in a competitive league against a higher standard of player than he will come up against week in week out playing in the reserves.
Reality is it way well be his last chance to stake a claim for a squad number in our SL side in 2026 if he doesn’t impress at Hunslet in 2025.

| Didn't Noah get man of the match when he got a chance to play for the first team, I wonder what his Grandad Mick Morgan thinks about the move.

Yeah, he had a great game and seemed to get less game time following that. Unexpected decision, I rate the lad.

Nice lad is Joe so happy for him. Ian Thornley didn't do him any favours though.

Croft, Thornley and Pratt ahead of him so was only going to feature if injuries hit.
He will get a full season at a good club like York who should challenge top 4 of championship. Good move for him.
Isn’t that another we expected to be part of 2025 as he wasn’t on the leavers list. More salary cap space freed up if needed.
