| I think Fozzard working under Martin Hopkins would work well, his enthusiasm really does come through. As for Ferris maybe, maybe not. But I do like the idea of a little more experience on the board but personally I would go for someone with more of a financial background.

There is a big jump from being a mouth piece cheerleader on Twitter to managing the marketing for a big business.
'"
I think you would be surprised as to how important social media is perceived in modern business and also with regard to marketing a company through social media
On Ferres, I think it's sad for cas that someone like him is walking away from them, Cas will struggle to replace him with anyone with anywhere near his experience and connections and Mr Fultons Job add statement clearly shows they don’t have anyone waiting in line
Good luck to Cas think they need it, I would be very sad to not see them in super league and despite all the banter I think most "True" wakey fans would miss the rivalry

| It's really good to see that this thread is being conducted in a serious manner by serious rugby fans. I've read it from start to end and I'm impressed that you guys have not lowered yourselves by having cheap shots - Thanks.
Steve Ferres was doing a really good job at Cas and now I've seen your opinions and the respect you still have for the guy, I'm even more convinced that we've lost a good bloke. We'll just have to wait and see how things pan out for us but as you know from personal experience, being rugby fans is like riding a roller coaster - Just over a week ago we were over the moon after beating our friends from Leeds... Not so now!

That was not a cheap shot but a genuine comment . You are all backing Ferres as a great guy and all I am doing is basically agreeing with his comments on the state of your club and its future prospects.
I will give you a few examples of cheap shots.
Lies about your new ground and trying to rig a spurious feasibility study to stop WMDC backing Newmarket.
Lying letters to the PI about how we did not need a new ground but could share GH.

| Quote Slugger McBatt="Slugger McBatt"If you think of the shifts in club ownership over recent years, do you think maybe Cas are the last of the old guard. There has been a takeover by modern savvy businessmen in recent years, probably started by Steve O'Connor at Widnes. But with us, and then Bradford and Salford, the nature of club owners has changed. '"
Very, very true...we do have the last of the old guard ownership at Cas and that is one of the main issues behind our stagnation since the Raper era. Football clubs realised it about 20 years ago and as you say, the change in RL has been happening for a while now, -with guys like McManus at Saints leading the way.
For some reason, whenever I hear about Jack Fulton and the board I just get a mental image of Arthur Lowe sat at the head of the boardroom table in 'This Sporting Life'.

Me too, never seen Fulton but that's how he looks in my mind but maybe not as dynamic

There was a picture of him alongside his statment regarding the departure of Ferris and "Arthur Lowe" is a great comparison.
He's certainly no spring chicken !

Must have missed something because I was given the impression that Ferres has basically given up with your club because he thinks the way its run has given it no future and its unssustainable. Ferres being the ex CEO is probably the best person to comment about the state you are in. If he basically says Cas are a basket case then who am I to argue.
So like I said why not accept what Ferres says an accept the club is going the way he suggested.

| Its certainly not looking good for them and I hope the fans dont end up going through what we did when it looked like we might not have a club left.I hope they get someone to come in that wants the club to move forward and can make that happen.

I honesetly think Cas Tigers are a good club for someone who wants to buy into RL. When you look at Salford's recent buy-out and compare the 2 clubs Cas have a better fan base, better junior set-up and own there own ground. Our only problem (and it is a BIG problem - granted) is getting Richard Wright, Jack Fulton and Brian Ashworth to sell-up.
