| Quote: Prince Buster "I think Ward is a very good coach, got London promoted and just lost out in SL on the last game of the season. He also did it with a very small budget. One other point, his league point tally in that relegated season is something that I wish we could achieve this season, but don't think we'll get close.'"
The only point tally that counts right now is, having more points than Cas.
If we'd started the season with something close to a competitive SL squad, maybe things would have been different.
However, with the squad that we had to start off, even King Midas himself would have struggled.
It matters not.
We just need to amass more points than Cas over the next few games and beating them at our place would be a good start,
mind you there could still be some twists and turns before the season is done.
Both clubs have a tricky set of remaining fixtures:
Cas have:
Trinity (a)
Saints (h)
Wire (a)
Hull FC (h)
Wigan (a)
Leeds (a)
We have
Cas (h)
Salford (a)
Saints (h)
Catalan (h)
Leigh (a)
KR (h)
The biggest positive is that we have 4 home games and Cas have only 2 but, it could go down to the last game of the season.

I was curious as to why Ugo wasn’t in the team vs Hull. Makes sense. Be interesting if Salabio or Franco get a gig but I think I’d stick with Lineham and Senior and I’d go with Eseh too.
The pack absolutely need to boss this game. Go big from the start maybe.

| I would suggest we enjoy the cup weekend because our match against Castleford will be here quickly enough with all that brings. It is even more important to enjoy a free week because let’s face it no one knows which Wakefield will turn up coupled with the uncertainty of what some teams will put out towards the season end.
It will be the usual Wakefield end of season so let’s hope our years of going through this threat stands us in good stead.

I dont want to tempt fete but, Cas would have killed to have had our recent results.
Despite not being great away from home, our recent home form has been excellent.
We clearly would like to win this one but, the derby game wont be THE decisive result but, it would give advantage to the victorious side.

I think it will absolutely be the decisive game.
I know we are all excited and think we are Penrith at home but there's every possibility neither team will win another game after that one. Must win.

Not ‘the’ decisive game PT, one of the decisive games of which I think all of the remaining fixtures now are.
If we win this one, lose our final games and cas pick up a few wins, then it doesn’t matter a jot tbh.
Our target should be winning every game for the rest of the season and not showing up like we did against Hudds or FC.

| My biggest worry is that the law of averages states that Cas must get a win some time, and sod's law states that it will probably come against us, but there again if we can go 14 league games without a win then so can Cas. Very worrying times.

Ok. I get you it. In mathematical terms you are dead right. And if we lose ill still be all rah rah team.
But if we can't beat Cas, the reality is we probably can't win any of the others either.

| The one thing we do have is a team and supporters who have gone through this situation many times in the last few seasons and should be battled hardened. What I was surprised at was the capitulation allowing Hull to rack up the points. We knew the game was beyond us but we should have tried to keep the score reasonable because at the end of the season it is worth one point and could be the deciding factor.

According to the headline on the front of our illustrious local rag (Wakefield Express).....
"Trinity vs Tigers....winner stays up"

| Someone on their forum suggested the RFL are going to favour us and give us a good ref because they want to keep us in Super League.
That's dafter than the post saying we were breaking the salary cap.

So suddenly we are SL's 'glamour' club after 20 plus years of being the unwanted guest at the party?
Yes, ok
