| Quote: MOPSEY LIVES ON "when the break was made rocky got with him ready for the pass, the player making the break is totally responsible for what happens next. Did he draw the fullback no did he go right to take the full back away no did he try to turn him away from the support runner no and lastly why did he pass if he couldn’t get a good ball out, it’s basic stuff you learn kids put the fullback where you want him. He broke through and didn’t know what to do simple as that.'"
I agree with what you say but Hampshire made it harder for him. He either needed to keep a straight line or move away but running closer took his options away.
I still think he should have kept the ball and dummied but Hampshire is partly to blame in my opinion.

| Quote: Willzay "I’m certainly not happy with the way things have been sliding recently, but if you think we haven’t come a long way from 2015, where we were getting beaten by 40 or 50 points nearly every week, including the 80-0 at Warrington.
I do agree though if the club says they’re going to have a crack at the cup and the top 5, they can hardly expect the fans to not be disappointed at the recently meagre attempts of doing both.
But this is definitely a long way from 2015.'"
it could be 80-0 in two weeks time

Agreed - between them, they did just about everything wrong; and when it became obvious to the ball carrier that he had no options, he should have dummied the fat lad and tried to make back the space that Hampshire had taken away.
All hindsight I know, but it did look fairly simple.

| All ifs, buts and maybes. Remember Batchelor chose to dummy and threw a try away against Catalans at ‘Magic’.
Can’t remember him copping the criticism Tanginoa is , who in my opinion had a good game against Leeds.

Nobody is criticising him - merely having a very civilised discussion about how that break was mishandled by both of the players involved.

| When coaching 2v1 & 3v1 situations you task the ball carrier with fixing then dragging the defender away from the support.
You would also task the support to keep some depth and width while timing their run.

| Just watched the game back, I can’t see why any individual player is getting criticised. Yes there was the odd dumb mistake but with weather like that it’s hardly going to be free flowing rugby. The new lad from Manly is 3 games in and clearly has potential. He’s hard running and has an offload in him, give him the chance.
On a dry track and with all that pressure in the first half we put points on the board regardless of the opposition.
I can see why people are annoyed losing 10-0 but I don’t think it’s as bad as 90% of the posts on here suggest

I'm annoyed for various reasons.
Lack of ideas in front of the line.
Leeds are a very poor side.
Being nilled at home.

Yep. And the fact that it was on TV again.
Spoke to a lapsed fan i know yesterday. His phrase was..
‘I’ve watched them on the box for the last two weeks, i see they are still just as c**p as they were when i was going down. Glad i don’t waste my money anymore’.
Performances like Friday are extremely damaging. The ‘floating’ fans need no excuse to not bother and time and time again we give them that perfect excuse. And they care not one jot about injuries and the balance sheet and the like. It’s results and performances that count and we are struggling there tight now.

Took my two grandchildren to the game on fri ,not ideal weather by any means but players and fans were flat ,nothing to shout and get excited about .Asked both last night if they want to go to Salford and drew a blank .kids need entertaining to keep them interested in our Great game ,unfortunately we aren’t producing that excitement that they crave ,with just two sparks in the whole game ,our break up field then their try the other way .Im trying my best to get my kids n grandkids into it ,but it’s hard work especially without our crowd pleaser fifita on the park.
